One of the goals of organizing hospitals is to provide protection for patient safety. Near
miss and adverse event that often occur are caused by a mismatch of patient identification,
errors in administration of the drug, the patient's blood sample swapped, and the patient falls.
Patient Safety Goals are one of the major chapters in SNARS Edition 1.This study looks at
patient safety at RSUD Kota Makassar by using patient safety goals on the accreditation version
of SNARS Edition 1.
The type of this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The instrument and
determination of informants using the SNARS edition 1 accreditation survey and obtained 20
informants. Data collection was done by reviewed the documents, observations, and in-depth
interviews. The validity of the data was done by triangulation of sources and methods.
The results of this research on patient safety obtained patient identification according to
regulations using six identities before action was taken. Improved effective communication is
carried out by making SOP and conducting training for effective communication, verbal and
verbal messages via telephone conducted with SBAR techniques but socialization of those
responsible for reporting critical values, proof of evidence and evaluation of critical matters has
not been fully fulfilled. Improved the safety of high alert medication and electrolyte concentrates
is carried out by applying SOP, providing lists and arranged in a safe place. Ensure correct-site,
correct-procedures, and corret-patient surgery carried out according to the WHO surgical safety
checklist, marking on site operations involves patients, informed consent and confirmation of
verification are complete. Reduce the risk of Health Care-Associated Infection carried out by
hand hygiene but only two of the five moments are taken. Reduce the risk of patient harm
resulting from fall is carried out by the SOP, assessment process and steps are taken to reduce
the risk of patients falling.
