Transfer Goal (Learning Outcomes)


The learners in the long run and on their own will be able to exercise authentic human freedom and develop righteous
conscience in respecting the dignity of every human person and commit to live out the values of the disciples of Christ
through their authentic witness of their life in thoughts, words and deeds as God’s own image and likeness.
Essential Understanding
The students will understand that our dignity does not put us above creation and does not mean that we can do
anything we want but are called to be free; that we have a moral obligation before God and one another to be responsible
in pursuing the true good, as discerned by our Christian conscience.
Essential Questions
1. Does knowing and learning the foundation and fundamentals of Christian morality enough for me to become a
better individual and merit me salvation?
2. Why do I need to follow a correct notion of morality to be good?
3. What is with Christian morality that is distinct with other concepts of morality?
4. How can one develop a sense of authentic morality in this world full of questions about God and His works?
I. PRELIMINARIES:
Review: What are the Essential Dimensions of Faith?
Focus: Introduction to Christian Morality
Motivation: Short Story: The Callbridge – Who is the person most responsible for the death of the Baroness? Why?
APK (Differentiated/Purposive/Student-centered Activities):
 How do we judge an act as morally good or evil?
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
A. Presentation of the Concept:
Students will know the Christian moral life as the call to become loving persons, in the fullness of life-with-others-in-
community before God, in imitation of Christ
Students will be able to make resolution on the way we suppose to think, feel, and act to perform our moral
responsibilities in freedom and love.
Activities:
A. The goal of the day will be presented by the teacher through the use of LCD Projector.
B. The teacher will present series of Biblical passages about the call of God to live a Christian moral life.
C. The teacher will ask the students on the underlying message each passages is telling us.
D. The students will explain and give examples to concretize their answers.
B. Broadening of Concept:
 What is the difference between Morality and Ethics? Are they similar?
C. Integration:
a. Ignacian Core/Related Value
Faith: Justice – What value should we possess if we are to live a just and moral life?
b. Social Orientation: What is your opinion on the legalization of same-sex marriage in the country?
c. Lesson Across Discipline: Immersion- What particular future situations in your immersion where you could apply
the concept of Christian Morality?
d. Faith Biblical Reflection: “But what comes out a person, that is what defiles. From within people, from their hearts, come
evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All
these evils come from within and they defile.” Mark 7:20-23

Oral Recitation
What does it mean by the statement: “Christian moral life is simply the call to become loving persons, in the fullness of
life-with-others-in-community before God, in imitation of Christ”? How do we become loving persons?
V. PURPOSIVE ASSIGNMENT:
Students shall research about any moral issues and in a 1 short bond paper is their personal judgment of the issue as
morally right or morally wrong. Explanation should be about 5-10 sentences (1 paragraph).
