FADE IN:
SCENE NAME
INT: CAR – AFTERNOON

SOUND: A HUM FROM FAST MOVING CARS AND THE RADIO GOING
QUIETLY IN THE BACKGROUND. CHILL BACKGROUND
MUSIC PLAYING.

GREG: 10 more minutes mum then we can relax on

the ferry.

GEORGIE: Only if this awful traffic moves out of

our way. I’m telling you now Greg we are
going to miss that ferry.

GREG: It wasn’t me who decided to unload the

dishwasher and clean all the toilets
before we left. If we had got out of the
house when we were supposed to we would
be on that ferry by now.

GEORGIE: I feel like we have forgotten

everything.

GREG: Just relax we will be fine.

GEORGIE: Do we have the tickets?

GREG: Yes we have them in my bag.

GEORGIE: Passports?

2
GREG: Yes I have mine and yours and mum has
hers. Mum you got your passport?

JULIE: No I gave it to you.

GREG: No mum you said you would bring it.

GEORGIE: Great, now what are we going to do?

GREG: Well we can’t drive home we will miss

all the ferries for today and that will
be a waste of the day.

GEORGIE: But we can’t leave her here alone and go

without her.

GREG: What if we hide her in the caravan?

GEORGIE: We can’t do that it’s illegal.

GREG: They won’t find out, they won’t check

inside the caravan.

GEORGIE: Ok fine but if we get caught this is on

you.

GREG: Yes ok, right mum you’re going to sit in

the caravan for the whole ferry ride so
we don’t make people suspicious.

3
GEORGIE: Let’s get her in now.

SOUND: THE CAR DOORS OPEN AND FOOTSTEPS CAN BE HEARD

WHILE THEY MOVE HER.

GREG: Alright mum we’ll see you in a bit.

SOUND: THE DOOR SHUTS FOOTSTEPS TRAVEL FROM THE

CARAVAN BACK TO THE CAR AND THEN THE DOORS
REOPEN AND SHUT AGAIN.

GREG: Ok now just stay calm, act normal, let

me do the talking while we go through.

GEORGIE: I have a bad feeling about this Greg.

GREG: We will be fine if we just play it cool.

SOUND: WINDOW SLIDES DOWN

SECURITY: Hello sir just the two of you today?

GREG: Yes that’s correct.

GEORGIE: His mum was supposed to come but she

decided not to in the end. Health stuff
you know.

please?

GREG: Sure.

SECURITY: Off on holiday then?

GREG: Yeah just a quick week in the sun.

SECURITY: Sounds nice. Have you been into the

country before?

GEORGIE: We go almost every year to get away from

our busy lives for a few days.

SECURITY: Ah I see. Well I hope you have a nice

break.

GREG: Thank you for your help, have a nice

rest of your day.

SOUND: THE WINDOW GOES BACK UP AND THE ENGINE STARTS

AGAIN

GREG: See I told you everything was fine we

can go and have a nice lunch while we
cross then we will let mum out when we
get to the other side.

GEORGIE: Ok well let’s see if we get in to the

other side before we get too excited.

GREG: I’m sure she will be fine, she’s got food,

water and a comfy sofa with a TV.

her own, I knew this was a bad idea. We should
go and get her out.

GREG: Just relax and enjoy the ferry ride she can
look after herself, if we get her out now we
will make people suspicious. Shall we go get
something to eat? Find a nice café?

GEORGIE: Ok fine, only if you are sure she will be

alright.
