 CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background
Requires fuel as a source of energy that is increasingly thin temporarily
Energy demand increases. Into energy almost all over countries in the world
including Indonesia. This requires us to think to find the best solution in overcoming
the energy crisis. Various countries have made efforts to overcoming the crisis,
renewal is by conducting research Helps improve fuel use efficiency. Almost all
companies engaged in the automotive field competing to produce products that are
capable Using fuel through technology development. Student as the expected change
agent can also help actively in the response efforts the energy crisis that has hit the
world including Indonesia.
This can be one of them manifested in creativity in an energy efficient car
contest. Energy Efficient Car Contest 2019 is a national economical car race. This
activity was followed by students from all universities / institutes / polytechnics in
Indonesia who meet the requirements determined by the committee. The ability to
improve and build An economical, safe, and environmentally friendly vehicle is a
must-have ability by all participants in this activity. Participants are required to be
able to use creativity in realizing real work that will be contested in two categories
namely Prototype, that is a future vehicle with a special design that maximizes
efficiency and Urban Concept that is, a four-wheeled vehicle that looks like a car in
general and is suitable for driving on the streets. Universitas Negeri Malang is a
campus or university that is trusted by Ditjen Belmawa-Kemristek Dikti to host the
KMHE (Kontes Mobil Hemat Kontes) 2019 or Energy Efficient Car Contest.

Thanks to almighty god who has given his bless to the writers for finishing this
paper entitled “ENERGY EFFICIENT CAR CONTEST 2019”.The writers also wish to
express his deep and sincere gratitude for those who have guide in completing this
paper.

In arranging this paper. The writers truly get lost challenges and obstructions
but we help of many individuals, those obstruction coud passed. Writer also realized
there are still many individuals, of many mistakes in process of writing this paper.

Because of that, the writer say thank you to all individuals who help in the
process of writing this paper. Hopefully, Allah replace all helps and bless you all. The
wirter realize hope the criticism form the readers can help the writer in perfecting the
next paper. Last but no the least hopefully, this paper can helps the reader to gain

 CHAPTER 2
DISCUSSION

The Directorate of Student Affairs, the Directorate General of Learning and

Student Affairs, the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Ditjen
Belmawa Kemristek Dikti) of the Republic of Indonesia also played a role by
exploring innovations in the field of energy savings in vehicles by organizing an
Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE). KMHE is an activity held to test the ability to
design and build safe, economical vehicles and environmentally friendly. This
KMHE is a routine activity of the Directorate General of Belmawa-Kemristek Dikti
agenda which from the beginning was better known as the Indonesia Energy
Marathon Challenge (IEMC).
This activity invited the participation of all university / institute / polytechnic
students in Indonesia. There are 2 categories of races namely Prototype and Urban
concept, each with 4 engine classes namely Motor Combustion (MPD) Gasoline,
MPD Diesel, MPD Ethanol and Electric Motors. In 2019, the Directorate General of
Belmawa-Kemristek Dikti partnered with Malang State University to organize
KMHE. Here are the events from the first day to the last.

Day 1
First day in KMHE (Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi) or Energy Efficient Car
Contest 2019 is the opening. On September 24 kmhe 2019 was officially opened by
Dr. Yoto, S.T., M.M., M.Pd. as chairman of the 2019 KMHE committee in front of
the State University's Malang University Directorate General.

 Then proceed with the performing arts with traditional dances by students and
students of the State University of Malang.

Then proceed with the exhibition or introduction of cars from each university,
institute, and polytechnic. In the 2019 KMHE there are two categories which are
divided into several sections, namely the Prototype and Urban Concept categories.

 Then after the exhibition and the introduction of each car of the participants
kmhe, followed by training each category on the circuit JSI. each participant must be
in accordance with the time and sequence that has been determined. training is carried
out from 10.30 - 16.00. After that, it will be continued with technical meeting and at
19.00 a gala dinner will be held in Malang city hall.

Day 2
In the Second day, KMHE 2019 starting at 07.00 with mandatory technical
brefing after that each participant must pass the inspection stages in the paddock
access area. If a participant does not pass the test then that participant may not take
the race. After passing through it, all participants can do the exercises before the first
race, training starts at 07.30-12.00.

 At 13.00 the first race starts with the Prototype category until 15.00 at the JSI
circuit. At 15.30 the first race starts for the Urban Concept category until 17.00. all
results will be recapitalized when the event is over. The last event on the second day
ended with a technical meeting at 19:00 until the end.

Day 3

CONCLUSION

3.1 Conclusion
KMHE is an activity held to test the ability to design and build safe,
economical vehicles and environmentally friendly. This KMHE is a routine activity
of the Directorate General of Belmawa-Kemristek Dikti agenda which from the
beginning was better known as the Indonesia Energy Marathon Challenge (IEMC).
This can be one of them manifested in creativity in an energy efficient car contest.
Energy Efficient Car Contest 2019 is a national economical car race. This activity
was followed by students from all universities / institutes / polytechnics in Indonesia
who meet the requirements determined by the committee.
The winner of KMHE (Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi) or Energy Efficient Car
Contest 2019 is a technology institution on November 10 as the overall champion. In
the Ethanol Prototype category Semeru team won first place and Semeru team got the
best design.
