We have just finished our eleven-
city run across Alaska, Asia,
and Hawaii. It was an epic two
weeks, with lives being touched
and changed in each city that we
visited. Every country and every
meeting was special—there were
so many precious and hungry
people.
There were so many highlights
on this trip. In Japan, we saw
many precious children getting
touched by the power of God. It
was incredible. Then in Mongolia,
at first, the people seemed
reserved—quiet and cautious—but
before long, they were clapping
their hands and shouting, “Amen!”
After the altar call, the fire of God
fell in such a heavy way and to
such an intensive degree, bodies
were lying everywhere. The people
were awakened and were now
responsive—and then they were
mobilized to win the lost at any
cost. They, without question, had
an encounter with JESUS!
The meeting in Thailand was a
miracle of all miracles. I had terrible
food poisoning, which caused me
to have to throw up in the car on
the two-hour drive to the meeting.
I had to pray for supernatural
strength and the ability to even
walk up to preach. However, the
Lord graced me to be able to
minister to the precious hungry
people of Thailand—and we saw
an incredible response—including
the pastor of the church getting
powerfully touched, and weeping,
as he translated!
Friday, September 27th, was
a bucket list moment for me. I
preached two Friday night services
on the same day in different
countries!
We started the first meeting on
Friday night in Seoul, South Korea.

Excerpts from This Present Glory

THE NAME
In most families, parents teach their children early in life that a good name is one of the most important things we can have. A
good name is a powerful asset, and the Name of Jesus is the most powerful Name in heaven, on earth, and under the earth! Many
are not aware that Jesus has given us the authority as believers to use His Name. “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that
will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:15)

You have direct access to the Father through Jesus. Religion is always asking somebody else to do the praying to the Father
for them, but we have access to the Father through the Name of Jesus. Jesus said, “In that day don’t ask me anything, ask the
Father in my Name.” Now that’s pretty phenomenal right there. You have authority to talk to the Father. First Timothy 2:5 is plain
concerning that. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

This is a weapon like no other. We have a weapon against the devil that never fails. Any weapon invented by man has
weaknesses. Without ammunition, it is useless. If it is not well cared for, if a part is missing or broken, or if it is inferior quality, it
will not function. Well, I have good news for you. You and I, as children of the living God, do not have an inferior weapon. We have
a Big Gun, the Big Missile is ours–the Name of Jesus. Hallelujah.

THE WORD

2 Who better to teach us about the weapon of the Word than Jesus, Who is Himself the Word of God? Each time the devil came to
Jesus with a temptation, Jesus answered, “It is written.” Jesus stood on the Word of God and used it to put the devil in His place.
If Jesus relied on the Word of God, then we should also rely on it to defeat the devil.

We read in Hebrews 4:15 that Jesus was tempted in all points, just as we are, but He did not sin. That means that every thought
that has tempted you, Jesus experienced. Does that mean that the devil sent thoughts to His mind just as he does to us? Did
Jesus really have bad thoughts? Yes, He did. They were not His thoughts. They were fiery darts from the enemy, just like we have
had, but He refused to let them stay in his mind.

When temptation comes, and it will, remember where the thoughts came from, and
refuse to let them take up residence in your mind. Most people do not deal with the
thoughts when they come. Kick them out, just like you would an old pig if it was sticking
its snout in the door. You would smack it in the head with a broom. So smack the
thoughts and temptations with your sword, the Word of God. He gave it to you to use —
don’t put it on the shelf to collect dust. Philippians 4:8 gives us the key to what should be
in our minds. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think
on these things.”
(speaking of Jesus) “He must increase but I must
decrease.” It is by yielding to the Holy Spirit in your
daily life that you begin to walk in the glory of His
abiding presence. Living the Spirit-filled life will be the
full expression of what the Holy Spirit will manifest in
you. The more He does the work in you, the more He
does the work through you.

The weapon of the Word of God will defeat the enemy every single time. Take authority
over him with the Word of God. Say this with me: “The weapon I have is the Word of

THE HOLY SPIRIT

4 The Holy Spirit is like an engagement ring to every believer. If a young man is going to
marry a woman, normally what happens first is that he presents her with an engagement
ring. That is a promissory ring. That’s why you need the baptism of the Holy Ghost, the
“ring of promise.” You don’t just wear it sometimes, then take it off on Sunday morning
to hide it. I wear it all the time. I am sealed by the Holy Spirit, and I am proud to wear my
ring every day.

The Holy Spirit constrains you, He empowers you, He restrains you, He graces you, and
He equips you. He is there to provide whatever you need at the time. You may go to bed
tonight with no idea what to do about problems in your personal life or in the business
world, but tomorrow when you wake up, the Lord will tell you exactly what you need to
do. “And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when
you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)

HEALING HOPE
HOPE FREEDOM
I came to The River from New Hampshire to
attend the Healing School. I was in an accident
about 20 years ago that shattered all the bones
in my ankle. To put it back together, doctors
had to file all of the cartilage out of it. I’ve
walked with a limp ever since, and I was told
that I’d never walk without one. On the second
day of Healing School, we were praising and
worshiping the Lord, and all of a sudden, it felt
like my ankle was on fire. The next day, I could
walk on my ankle; the day after, I could walk
almost a mile. Now I can jump on it! The report
that I received two days before coming here
was that my ankle needed to be fused, and I
would never walk on it again. I’m going back to
the doctor now to hand them back this brace
that’s been a prison for 20 years! I’m walking.
I’m jumping. That’s the power of Jesus, and I
love Him!

God ignited a fire and passion within us for

saying, “Thank You Lord that our home is paid
in full in Jesus’ name.” One Sunday following a
service, someone handed us a blank check that
read in the memo line, “No more mortgage.”
We paid off $80,000 worth of debt to our
mortgage company! God is faithful, and He is
no respecter of persons. If He did it for us, He
will do it for you!

In God’s presence is fullness of joy, and the joy of the Lord is our strength! When we
get to know Him and His ways of life, He fills us with His joy. His presence is available
for every born-again believer to live in – right here and right now. We do not have to
wait till we are in Heaven. We can know His presence and His touch.

In 1989, the Lord poured out His Spirit on the ministry of Rodney and Adonica
Howard-Browne, and revival came to the Church. One of the hallmarks of this move

CRUSADE: good news new york
IN THE SUMMER OF 1999, Drs. Rodney and Adonica
Howard-Browne came to New York City to conduct
one of the largest soul winning crusades since the
50s.
It began in February of 1998. While conducting a
series of meetings in Ozark, Alabama, Dr. Rodney
Howard-Browne had a supernatural dream in which
he was talking to Dr. Billy Graham. In the dream, Dr.
Graham was talking to Dr. Howard-Browne about
a crusade that he had conducted in 1957. He had
rented Madison Square Garden for what started out
to be a six week crusade and went for three and a
half months. During this time in New York, two million
people attended the meeting at the Garden and
55,000 decisions were made for Christ.
While Dr. Graham was speaking to him in the dream,
Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne began to weep over New
York and America. When he awoke in the morning,
his pillow was soaking wet with tears. The moment
his feet touched the floor, he knew that he had to go

to New York City and launch one of the biggest soul-
winning crusades since the 50s.
The crusade, called Good News New York ran from
July 7-August 14, 1999. It was six weeks of non-stop
soul-winning on the streets during the day and a
soul-winning service every night at Madison Square
Garden. We spent over $6.7 million to fund the
crusade. We were not the first ministry that God had
spoken to about conducting a city-wide outreach in
New York City. Even though we are not a big ministry
and we did not have the finances or the support
needed for an outreach of this magnitude, we decided
to trust God and to go ahead and obey His call and His
mandate. In spite of a lack of cooperation from most
New York churches and even outright opposition, we
went ahead with the outreach, and the Lord blessed
us and helped us. OVER A SIX-WEEK PERIOD,
Five thousand volunteers from 36 states and 22
countries came to share the love of God with the 5,000 VOLUNTEERS
people of New York City. We handed out over 13 DISTRIBUTED OVER
million tickets, in eight different languages, with free
admission to Madison Square Garden. We witnessed
on the streets, from the penthouse to the crack house,

away 250 tons of food.

Over a twelve-year period, Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne has
visited the campus of Oral Roberts University several times—
most notably in 1993, 1995, and 2005. Each time that he has
gone to Oral Roberts University, literally hundreds and hundreds
of students have been impacted by the fire and the anointing
of the Holy Spirit. Each time, the altar has been full of students
recommitting their lives to Christ; students were filled with the
joy of the Lord and set on fire.

During these revival meetings, the ORU campus was turned

upside down by the Holy Spirit and lives forever changed.
