of desperation in July of 1979 when
I cried out to the Lord: “Lord, I know
You called me into the ministry, but
I cannot go without Your fire, without
Your anointing. I’m so hungry, I’m
so thirsty, I’m so desperate for Your
power—Your fire.” I was in a prayer
meeting, with about eighteen young
people present, when I cried out
loud: “God, I need Your fire! Please
come touch me now!”

Some people pray for ten minutes

and think they have moved the hand
of God. Some people pray for an
hour and think they really pressed
in. No, you haven’t come to that
breaking point. You have not come
to that place called Gethsemane.
You have not come to that place
where you place everything on the
altar.

In December of 1987,
Rodney, along with
his wife, Adonica, and
their three children,
Kirsten, Kelly and Kenneth, moved from their native land,
South Africa, to the United States – called by God as
missionaries from Africa to America. The Lord had spoken
through Rodney in a word of prophecy and declared: “As
America has sown missionaries over the last 200 years, I
am going to raise up people from other nations to come
to the United States of America. I am sending a mighty
revival to America.”
In April of 1989, the Lord sent a revival of signs and
wonders and miracles that began in a church in Clifton
Park, New York, that has continued until today, resulting
in thousands of people being touched and changed as
they encounter the presence of the living God! God is still
moving today – saving, healing, delivering, restoring, and
setting free!
Drs. Rodney and Adonica’s second daughter, Kelly, was
born with an incurable lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis.
This demonic disease slowly destroyed her lungs. Early on
Christmas morning 2002, at the age of eighteen, she ran
out of lung capacity and breathed out her last breath. They
placed her into the arms of her Lord and Savior and then
vowed a vow. First, they vowed that the devil would pay
for what he had done to their family. Secondly, they vowed
to do everything in their power, with the help of the Lord,
to win 100 million souls to Jesus and to put $1 billion into
world missions and the harvest of souls.
When Drs. Rodney and Adonica became Naturalized
Citizens of the United States of America, in 2008 and
2004 respectively, they took the United States Oath of
Allegiance, which declares, “I will support and defend the
Constitution and laws of the United States of America
against all enemies, foreign and domestic...” They took
this oath to heart. They love America, are praying for
this country, and are trusting God to see another Great
Awakening sweep across this land.
Believing for another Great Spiritual Awakening, Drs.
Rodney and Adonica conducted Celebrate America DC,
a soul-winning event. They preached the Gospel of Jesus
Christ for fifty nights in Washington, D.C., and surrounding
areas from 2014-2019. Through the evangelism efforts on
the streets, in the halls of Congress, and the nightly altar
calls, 58,033 individuals made decisions for Jesus Christ.
During Celebrate America, on July 11, 2015, at the
Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall,
Dr. Rodney executed a restraining order against the
structure that is holding America in captivity – binding
it and rendering it powerless and ineffective from the
Supreme Court, to the White House, to the Executive
Branch, Congress and the Senate – in the name of Jesus.
He commanded the church in America to wake up – for the
people of God to come out of their slumber. He declared
that it is time to take the land.

At the close of 1996, the Lord
planted within Pastors Rodney
and Adonica’s hearts the
vision and desire to begin a
church in Tampa. He told them,
“I want Sunday mornings
back!” With a heart for the
lost and a desire to see people
touched and changed by revival
and the Word of God, they
implemented that vision and
began “The River at Tampa
Bay” with the theme, “Church
with a Difference.” In their very
first service, 575 people joined
them. For nearly five years, they
met in the Sun Dome, and then
later on, they rented a building
on Busch Boulevard. In the
summer of 2001, the Lord gave
them a beautiful two-year-old
building on the main highway
worth twice what they paid for
it! Over the years, thousands
have come from all over, and
the membership has grown. The
facilities have changed, yet these
three things have remained
constant since the church’s
beginning…dynamic praise and
worship, anointed preaching
and teaching of the Word, and
powerful demonstrations of the
Holy Spirit and power!

– to raise up a NEW BREED of
Revivalists for the 21st century
and to PREPARE God’s people

In doing this, we will raise up a
generation of leaders – a radical
group of young people who are
set ablaze by the fire of the Holy
Ghost – who have a passion
for souls and are committed to
winning the lost at any cost.
Their aim will be to adopt their
campuses and community
as their mission field, and to
establish a “KINGDOM” culture
in every area of their lives.

I came to the River at Tampa Bay Church in 2013. I
had just graduated from high school and was set on
chasing money, relationships, and really anything that
I thought would fill the deep void for meaning in my
life.
One night, I decided to attend an iM service. During
that service, Pastor Allen called me out to pray for
me – he called me out by name. At 8 years old, I
had begged my mom to let me sit in a youth service.
Pastor Allen allowed it because even then he could
see a longing for the presence of God. After all those
years, he still knew who I was. To this day, I don’t
recall everything he prayed that Friday night. And I
can’t say that I physically felt a change within in me,
but the simple act of being remembered sparked a
Pastor Allen Hawes desire to know the love of God.
iM has changed me so much! I’ve learned how to trust
God and His purpose for my life and it’s far better than
the brokenness of my past! I thank God for leadership
that accepted me in my mess and loved me enough
to not leave me there. I’m growing in the Word and
now running with the vision to reach my generation for
Jesus Christ. Thank you!

You have not come to that place where you have said: “Father, not my will but Thine be done.” You have not come to that
place of consecration.

The fire is not for the few, but for the majority. Unfortunately, it seems that it’s only the few who press in. The fire is not just for
those we read about, who have caught the flame. Your name is supposed to be mentioned in there, as well.

So, I made a decision that night in July of ‘79. I said: “Oh, Lord, tonight’s my night.” I meant business, because I was hungry.
This hunger had grown from August of ‘78 to July of ‘79. I had to have this fire. I started shouting at the top of my voice: “God,
I want Your fire! God, I want Your fire!” I shouted for about twenty minutes, but I never felt a thing. My voice was going hoarse.
Then, suddenly, it was as though somebody poured gasoline over me, lit a match, and set me on fire, from the top of my
head to the soles of my feet. I began to burn with the fire of God. It was like electricity going through me. It felt like pins and
needles from head to toe.

Instantly, I was beside myself. If you had seen me, you might have said I was drunk. I was laughing uncontrollably; I was
weeping uncontrollably; and I was speaking in other tongues, all at the same time. I thought it might last about an hour. But
an hour went by, two hours went by; three, four, five, six hours went by. One day, two days, three days went by. Now I’m not
praying anymore for God to send the fire. It is so intense that I can hardly stand it. I’m concerned He’s going to kill me. He
has touched me, and now He’s going to take me home. I started praying: “Lord, I’m too young to die.”

I knew then why we’re going to have to have glorified bodies in Heaven. Because if we didn’t, we couldn’t handle the
presence of God. Natural bodies cannot handle the full weight of the glory of God. Thankfully, we leave these bodies behind
when we go. Oh, how wonderful it will be to walk in His presence! So, finally I had to ask the Lord to lift the fire a little. “Please
don’t take it away, just lift it so I can bear it.” He lifted it a bit, so I could function, and it stayed like that for about two weeks.

The devil’s not worried about you if you don’t have any fire. It’s those who are full of the fire of God who are the biggest threat It is the fire of
to the kingdom of darkness. I do not believe for one moment that I would be ministering today, like I am, if it wasn’t for my
encounter with the fire of God. It’s the fire of God that shapes you, makes you, empowers you, enables you, and that will God that shapes
carry you through till you see Him face to face.

to know? Then get in His Word. Find a church full of the fire of God. Do you think you can go to a church where there is no

acceleration of His purposes. We are so close
to wrapping things up; the coming of the Lord is
imminent. This is why we must run with the fire like
never before and see whole nations shaken. He
said, “Ask of Me and I will give you the heathen
for your inheritance and the uttermost parts of the
earth for your possession.” He said, “Delight in Me
and I will cause you to ride on the high places of
the earth.”
Since 2011, we have seen over 18,768,000

First Corinthians 8:1-3 (Amplified) says that mere knowledge

causes people to be proud and puffed up, but love edifies and
builds us up, encouraging us to grow to our full stature. The man

An excerpt from Jesus by Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son
of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the
prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Matthew 16:13-15

Jesus asked the disciples two questions. “Whom do men say that I am?” And then, “Whom do you say that I am?” I believe
that these two questions will be asked of you as you read this book. Jesus wanted to know who His disciples thought He
was, and now He wants to know who you think He is.

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto
him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in
heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell will
not prevail against it. Matthew 16:16-18

I want you to notice something. Peter saw something that day. His eyes were opened and he saw who Jesus really was. As
we step into this new millennium, what the world needs more than anything is to see Jesus clearly. Unfortunately, most
people see Jesus through the eyes of religion and tradition.

When we went to Disney World to see their Christmas production one year, we saw people put out their cigarettes and
stand there with tears rolling down their cheeks, singing about the babe who was born in Bethlehem. Everybody can get
tearful about a baby. If you keep Him as a baby, you don’t have to accept Him as the Lord of your life.

Jesus is born at Christmas and He dies at Easter. At Easter, Jesus is on the cross. The world again stands with tears rolling
down their cheeks, this time about the fact that Jesus died. But you know what? They still don’t make Him their Lord. To
be born again and make Heaven their home, they have to invite the risen Lord Jesus to come and make His home on the
inside of them. They have to see, and believe, that the tomb is empty.

The world says that Jesus was just a good man. Some say that He was a prophet in a long line of prophets. Others say that
He was an eccentric. Some say that He was a martyr. And others say that He was a fairy tale. Children are raised to believe
in the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny, Santa Claus, and Jesus Christ. We’ve put Jesus in there with the fairy tales, and when
children eventually find out that the fairy tales are not real, they start to wonder about Jesus too. But Jesus is not a fairy
tale; He’s a living reality.

Let’s go on a journey through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and let’s see how Jesus is portrayed through the Word
of God.
In Genesis, He is the Seed of the Woman.
In Exodus, He is the Passover Lamb.
