PHILO 101 - Ethics

Philo 101 or Ethics, in this particular subject I am looking forward to a lot of things.
Firstly, I expect my teacher to provide the class with everything that is needed in this
subject including important lessons and concepts that hopefully would be of use in the
future. I also expect for the teacher to be kind, considerate and not overly strict during
his discussions. Secondly, I expect to gain a lot of learning in this subject, that the
discussions will be informative. I am looking forward to lively discussions regarding
matters of existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind and language; as well as lessons
about the concepts of right and wrong conduct. Lastly, I expect myself to do well in this
subject since Philo 101 had piqued my interest and curiosity. I do not know a lot about
Ethics/ Moral Philosophy and I hope that it will give me room for improvements. For me
to achieve my goals, I will make sure that I will do my part as a student.

SOCIO 101 – The Contemporary World

For this subject, Socio 101 – The Contemporary World which is concerned with
the study of society and how humans interact with the world, I expect the class to be
pleasant and fascinating, for it to be interactive not boring and to learn relevant
information. I am expecting a lot of lectures and discussions relating to the
contemporary period. There will be a lot of readings and I want to get the most of what
I read. I expect that before our instructor gives us activities, seatwork, test or exam, the
instructor had already given us the adequate learning and lessons that will equip and
guide us to answer his assessments of our academic abilities. I look forward to an
enjoyable learning experience in my Socio 101 class and I hope that everything that we
will learn, all the knowledge we’re taking in will be with us even after this semester ends.

LAW 413 – Law on Business Organization

Taking this class, Law 413 or Law on Business Organization, makes me nervous,
anxious and excited all at the same time. My expectations for Law 413 are based on
the way Law was taught in my previous law class where there’s a lot readings, and
students have to memorize all the Codal Provisions. I also expect that that I’d get
overwhelmed by new terms, ideas and ways of thinking. I anticipate that this subject
like the previous one I had - will be intense and stressful, I worry about not being able to
keep up. Despite this pessimism, I am determined to do well, be a good student and a
hardworking person. Law is a useful tool that one can use whichever way he please, it is
a subject where you can learn how to communicate, advocate, question and
scrutinise, and these are employable skills which will be useful for me in facing the real
world in the future, I should be prepared to work hard to learn it.

ECON 124 – Managerial Economics

It’s not my first time to have an economics subject since I had taken one last
semester. For Econ 124 – Managerial Economics, I expect that the topics that we are
going will be related to what I learned in my previous economics class. I have known
that studying economics includes learning to use statistics and to read critically. I
expect that this subject will continue to broaden our knowledge, deepen
understanding of economic phenomena and improve our skills in using the analytical
tools of economics in problem solving. I expect that Economics subject tends to be
more challenging and complicated subject. There’s no doubt, there will be a lot of
demands such as assignments, quizzes and of course, final exams, that is why I need to
devote more time in studying my book and listen to my teacher’s discussion attentively.
I hope that despite all the demands that this subject makes, I will be able to eventually
adapt over time.

TAX 321 – Business Taxation

In this particular subject, Tax 321 or Business Taxation, I expect that the minimum
knowledge we acquired from prior taxation subject will be added with new ones. I
assume that we are going to focus and tackle more about business taxation regulations
and provisions and tax compliance of businesses. Most certainly the teacher would
have his lectures and discussions and we, as students will do our respective part which is
to read and review our study materials to achieve better results in tests. Like all other
subjects, I expect taxation to be challenging and of medium difficulty. I just hope that
our teacher would be thoughtful and considerate in handling the class, be genuinely
concerned with the students’ learning and improvement, and ensure that we really
gained knowledge from his lessons. I hope that my learning journey to taxation will be
smooth-sailing and that I will enjoy the learning process.
