1. GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AND COOPERATION (CODE: GCC)

Global interconnectedness means that the wellbeing and prosperity of societies around the world are
growingly more interdependent. Be it in international security, financial stability, climate change, and
even disease control, a concerted effort across nations is required to deal with global problems. The
diversity of political system, history, culture, and economic conditions, however, adds to the
complexity for coordination, leadership, and implementation to take place.
 Instead of acting as a barrier, in what ways can diversity be beneficial for global cooperation?
 What does leadership and cooperation look like in a world where countries are defined along
so many dividing lines, and how can Indonesia take a proactive role in such leadership and
cooperation?
 What role can youths have in shaping policy-making and implementation that connects local
and global initiatives?

2. FUTURE OF WORK (CODE: FOW)

Technological innovations, global human mobility, climate change, and evolution of habits and tastes
continue to reshape political, social, and economic relations. In a rapidly changing world, the future
seems more exciting and uncertain at the same time. Those more well-equipped and versatile are poised
to benefit the most, whereas those lacking resources, skills, and access are often left behind. Youths are
expected to prepare a more specialized set of skills to be competitive for the job market of the future.
 What is the role of the government and the private sector in shaping the future of work, and
how can both collaborate to equip young people for jobs of the future?
 How do we bridge the gap between Indonesian youths who have access to education,
information, and capital, to youths who do not? Is it possible to focus on developing both
groups simultaneously instead of allocating resources primarily to either one?
 Since technological innovations in the 21st century might increase productivity at the cost of
jobs more rapidly than ever before, how can we promote innovations while ensuring full
employment?

3. SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (CODE: SED)

As an economic powerhouse that is still developing, Indonesia continues to face the seemingly
inevitable dilemma of choosing between economic growth and sustainability. For example, the
development massive coal power plants continue to increase to support industrial activity and private
consumption. Regions experiencing rise in income and wealth also bring an increase of waste
production. On the other hand, awareness of the impact of our economic activities to the climate
continues to increase especially among the youths.
 What are other real dilemmas involving sustainability that Indonesia confronts as we continue
to expand? What are ways to ensure economic development that is environmentally and socially
sustainable?
 How can the government promote responsible and sustainable business/economic practices that
do not stifle economic growth and job creation?
