3. (a) Describe how the molecular mass of a substance can be determined


using elevation of boiling point method. Draw a labelled diagram of
apparatus. (09 marks)
(b) A solution containing 2.5g of glucose, C6 H12 O6 , in 100g of ethanol boils
at 83◦C and 760mmHg yet pure ethanol boils at 78◦C at the same
pressure.
