MODIFICATION INSTRUCTION X32 FADER

Removing The Fader PCBs

This rework describes how to re-connect the belt drive and adjust the gear to prevent
future slippage.

Refer to the X32 Exploded Drawing (page 92) at the bottom of this document for dis-
assembly reference.

Power down the unit and disconnect any other devices (loudspeakers,
compressors, etc).

Remove the side panels (ITEM 4 and 5) via the 5 screws per side.

Remove the upper-back screws (ITEM 1) via 8 screws.

Remove the upper screws from the side chassis panels (ITEM 2) via 5 screws per
side.

Remove the 8 screws on the front bottom, near the arm rest.

Remove the 1 screw by the middle, securing foot (blue arrow below).

Remove the fader knobs.

Remove the Fader PCBs by removing the 12 screws (shown in green) and by
disconnecting the attaching power cables (shown in red).

Once the Fader PCB is out, slide belt back over plastic gear and push the white Gear
toward the metal fader brace (PHOTO 2 and PHOTO 3).

Place a drop of LOCTITE Glue on the top of the white gear where the metal stud is
located (PHOTO 4).

Allow glue to dry for at least 10 minutes.

Reassemble the console and test the fader movements.
