Client ALUMIL - MILONAS, GR-61100 Kilkis
1 Order
The client ALUMIL - MILONAS, GR-61100 Kilkis, commissioned ift Rosenheim, to test the
window system "M 9400 SOFTLINE PLUS“ according to European standards.
2 Object
Window system M 9400 SOFTLINE PLUS
Type of opening Fixed, side-hung, tilt-and-turn, double with opening meeting
stile
Frame
Frame material Aluminium
Rebate seal External, central and internal seal/gasket
Material EPDM
Corner design Central seal with corner pieces
Internal and external seals mitre-bonded
Hardware
Make ROTO ALU
Rebate drainage Slots 35 mm x (6 – 10) mm with cover caps
Infills
Glazing Insulating glass unit
Total thickness up to 39 mm
Glass sealing system preformed glazing gaskets
External corner design mitre-bonded
Internal corner design continuous
Fixed light cavity between internal panel and glazing rebate platform
filled with elastic sealant at building height > 20 m (see An-
nex 1)
Water vapour Slots of 15 m x 5 mm in bottom casement member
equalisation
Sampling: Based on the submitted description of the window system
and taking into account the maximum dimensions specified
by the system supplier, the ift Rosenheim selected various
test specimens offering a choice of different variants:
Test specimen delivered on 5 June 2001
Test specimen 1 Window unit with tilt and turn casement and subjacent
fixed light
Casement profile section No. 9481
Overall frame dimensions 1,283 mm x 2,200 mm
Casement size 1,235 mm x 1,070 mm
Details of test specimens (e.g.: profiles, seals/gaskets, drainage and ventilation options)
are presented in the drawings of cross section given in Annex 1.
3 Procedure
Relevant test standards:
prEN 12046-1 : 1982–06 Windows - Operating forces – Test method,
DIN EN 1026 : 2000–09 Windows and doors - Air permeability - Test method,
DIN EN 1027 : 2000-09 Windows and doors - Watertightness - Test method,
DIN EN 12211 : 2000 -12 Windows and doors - Resistance to wind load - Test method,
prEN 947-1 : Windows – Resistance to racking (vertical load),
prEN 948-1 : Windows - Resistance to static torsion,
DIN EN 1191 : 2000-08 Windows and doors - Resistance to repeated opening and
closing - Test method,
Classification is based on the following applicable standards:
prEN 13115 : 2000-11 Windows — Classification of mechanical properties — Rack-
ing, torsion and operating forces
DIN EN 12207 : 2000-06 Windows and doors - Air permeability - Classification,
DIN EN 12208 : 2000-06 Windows and doors - Watertightness - Classification,
DIN EN 12210 : 2000-06 Windows and doors - Resistance to wind load - Classifica-
tion,
DIN 18055 : 1981-10 Windows; air permeability of joints, watertightness and me-
chanical strain; requirements and testing
The test cycle was based on DIN 18055, in the sequence as described in Section 4 - Re-
sults
The test equipment used is in conformity with the above standards.
Period of test: 16 June 2001 to 2 August 2001
Ambient temperature approx. (20 ±3) °C

The test results can only be extrapolated for the listed and smaller dimensions provided
that
– the design and modes of operation remain unchanged - and
– a consistently high processing quality is ensured by means of the appropriate monitor-
ing measures - and
– the materials used and processing/workmanship comply in full with the description in
this test report
