Recall significant experiences on being part of a group in the following areas:

1. Peers
According to the Merriam webster, peer is one that is of equal standing with another or one belonging to
the same societal group especially based on age, grade, or status. For me, peers are the most important
group that I have since this is where close friends and my cousins are categorized. As a part of my peers,
there were a lot of experiences that I can recall since these persons are the ones that I am with since I was
a kid. My peers contributed a lot to who I am because we are together as I grow up. They were the ones that
I shared a lot of my memories with. I remember being aloof and outspoken whenever I am with my peers
since there were no superiority that is happening, and we are all equal. In this case, I was able to show the
real me whenever I am with them. I learned a lot about myself by the help of my peers. My peers taught me
a lot of things by experience and I think that is beautiful. I cherished a lot of moment with my peers and this
moments in my memories make up who I am right now, and I believe that my peers positively affect me, and
I am happy about it.

2. School
School also contributed a lot of things whether life lessons or school lessons. As a part of this group, it
contributed a lot in my social aspects since school is very different from the peers because in school, we are
not equal and some of the students aren’t the same as you. In school, everyone is different, and it is also
usual to encounter a variety of cliques that differ in every way. I admit that being part of this group requires a
lot of understanding and adjustments. As I grow up, this is were I encounter a lot of people and different traits
of a person. In this group, you cannot pick who you are with because everyone is entitled with education, we
cannot avoid people with different personality as you so what we do is cope and adjust with those people so
there will be no conflicts. In this group, I experienced a lot of ups and downs, not just by the people who are
in the group but the things that are being brought by different people. I learned a lot being in this group and I
cannot enumerate it because it is too much, I know that you can understand me because school is a very
broad group. All I can say is that in this group I learned how to adjust and communicate with other people
that are not in my same level.

3. Community
Community is much broader that school and peers. For me, community is composed of different people
that even those you didn’t expect to deal with are there. In community, I experienced being the inferior one
considering my social status and my age, of course I didn’t consider myself as the superior one. In this group,
there were lots of things that we need to do, individually and as a group, in order to be useful everyone should
function depending on their role in the society. As a teenager, I know that my experiences in the community
wasn’t big as those in 40’s already. I know that I had a lot more to undergo and as time passed by, I know
that I will offer a lot in the society once I am on the age wherein, I can confidently contribute something to the
society. As for now, I can only contribute a little by doing my role as a student and I know that even these
little things count as a contribution. For me, what important is I am aware that someday I can be more that
what I am today.

1. Being part of a group, what has been your significant contribution(s)?

As a part of a group, I am always aware that each member of a group should have a contribution to
it. To my primary group, my friends and family, I know that one of my significant contribution is my self.
As I learned in my GED101, self has a lot of factors and incorporating this to CWTS101, I realized that
my self is a contribution in the groups that I am with because “No man is an island.” Therefore, each of
us in the group first contributed who we are before contributing other things like personal needs or
advices. Furthermore, I contributed my very existence because what I am is most likely influencing the
other persons in a group and considering the primary group which have a face-to-face interaction, my
personality/identity contributed in the growth of the group since we influence each other as time passes
by. On the other hand, in my secondary group, I contributed on the aspect of my role as an individual,
since in this group, it doesn’t usually involve face-to-face interaction.

2. With your significant contribution(s) of being part of a group, how did it contribute to your personal
growth and development?

For me, my contribution reflects a lot in my personal growth and development because my
contribution in every group is who I am. This means that what I contributed in a group will be always
incorporated in my personal growth and development in a sense that as I grow up and as time passes
by, these contributions will also change as I change my personality/identity overtime. Also, I will learn to
reflect in who I am because this is what I contribute in the groups that I have.

3. How do you show appreciation to the contribution(s) of each member in a group?

Personally, I show my appreciation to the contributions of each member of the group by

acknowledging who they are and what they can contribute. I also help them to speak up their voices. I
also motivate them to be who they want to be. I am also there to listen to whatever their perspective is.
In this way, I know that I can show that I appreciate them and that whatever they have in their minds
matter.
