Maharashtra Fire Service Academy (MFSA) & The State Fire Training Center (SFTC), Mumbai offers
an opportunity to young and dynamic youth to pursue their career as a “OFFICER” as well as “FIREMAN” in
the field of Fire Service. Both the course are Residential Course; Fireman -06 Months (Jan-June & July-Dec)
& Officer -01 Yr (Jan-December), which will help to build a strong foundation of career oriented and will
help to make a bright career in Public and Industrial Fire & Emergency Services.

This Course is designed and developed to create the versatile feeder cadre of professional Fire
fighters for public and industrial Fire Services. Though, the said course is mainly male dominated course,
but for the first time the institution is attempting to impart training to female candidate for fireman
course. The female batch will only be conducted if 30 Nos. of female eligible candidates are able to
complete the admission process.

Eligibility criterion for Admission:-

Beside general condition that candidate should be domicile of Maharashtra and have proficieny in Marathi
Language (which shall be ascertained during documentation verification process), the given below criteria
is applicable

Beside above, following given medical parameters shall be applicable for all the candidate applying for both
the course

Medical Standard:-
1. Eye Sight- Distant Vision 6/6 without spectacles. No colour Blindness.
2. Hearing should be normal without any evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose or
throat.
The candidates must not suffer from
1. Disease of bones and joints of the body
2. Past history of mental breakdown or fits.
3. Any disease of the skin, which is likely to cause disability or disfigurement
4. Knock Knee,
5. Flat foot,
6. Varicose vein
7. Squint eyes
8. No medical deformity
9. Should not have undergone any major surgery.
10. Any hearing loss deficiency and speech deficiency such as Stammering.
11. Must be in good mental and bodily health
12. Free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of discharging life
saving and fire fighting services.

Application procedure: - Eligible and interested candidates should fill the online application form from
15.07.2019 to 31.08.2019 on website www.mahapariksha.gov.in & www.mahafireservice.gov.in

Instruction for Applicant:-

1. Read the Advertisement carefully.

2. Check the qualifications/eligibility criteria for the course you would like to apply.
3. Create User ID and Password during registration and filling up of the application form
4. Please pay applicable fee before last date mentioned in the advertisement. Fees once paid is non-
refundable & non-transferable.
5. Fill application form completely.
6. Login with the created User ID and Password on the website, click on “Fill Application Form” link and
complete and take printout of the online application form. Applicant must fill following information
in the form.

d. Photo and sign upload details
(1) Scan and upload the photograph image which is having minimum of height 200px and width
200px image size should be between 3 kb and 50 kb.
(2) Draw rectangle of 5 x 4.5 cm on white table. Sigh in rectangle by using pen. Scan the image
and upload into the registration form. Image size should have minimum height of 60px and
width 140px. Image size should be between 3 kb and 50 kb.

7. Without filling above information your form will not be complete. Fill the above information in online
application form and take printout of the form for your reference.
8. Please check the website for regular updates. Admit card shall be available in your login and the
notification will be available on the website before the examination. There will not be any written
communication before the examination. (Tentaive Date for Document Verification & Physical will be
from 16.09.2018 onwards and for Online Exam. will be informed post physical examination
completion.
9. Document Verification & Physical shall be held at “Directorate of Maharashtra Fire Service,
Maharashtra Fire Service Academy, Hans Bhugra Marg, Kalina, Santacruz (East), Mumbai 400098
whereas Online Exam will be conducted in one of the the exam centre you have opted out of the
given options. No request for change of centre wiil be entertained.
10. Hall Ticket for Physical Exam. and Documents verification will be made available one week before
the physical examination.

Documents to be submitted at the time of Physical Test: Attested copies along with original documents of
following,:-
1. Admit Card along with print copy of Online Form
2. Education qualification Certificate. –Mark sheet along with passing certificate from any recognized
Board / University as per the applied training course.
3. Attested copy of Caste Certificates, if applicable.
4. Birth Certificate/ School leaving certificate.
5. One latest colour passport size photograph, pasted on application form.
6. Attested Copy of Domicile certificate issued by local revenue authorities not below the rank of
Tehsildar for verification of citizenship.
7. Sport certificates.
8. Driving License – HMV/LMV
9. Medical fitness certificate in prescribed format from Medical Practitioner
10. Any other certificates

Note: Document Verification & Physical shall be held at “Directorate of Maharashtra Fire Service,
Maharashtra Fire Service Academy, Hans Bhugra Marg, Kalina, Santacruz (East), Mumbai 400098 as per the
dates allotted to candidate on their admit card. After the prescribed date, the applicant will not be
entertained.

Selection Procedure:
1. Selection procedure is completely on the basis of merit.
2. As per availability of Regional training centers, trainees for fireman course will be selected for a
year and there will be no waiting list kept of the course. Female candidate will only be considred if
desire number is 30 candidate.
3. For Officer Course, seat capacity is 40 Nos.
4. The candidates those who are completing all the formalities of application form will have to
undergo physical fitness test.
5. The date of physical fitness and document verification will be informed suitably, the list will be loaded on
website : www.mahapariksha.gov.in and www.mahafireservice.gov.in

Physical Fitness Tests:

Height, Chest and Weight measurements: Those who do not meet the required physical
parameters /measurements will be eliminated at this stage.

Physical Standards: -

1. Height – minimum 165 Cms (male), 157cms (female),

2. Chest - Minimum 81 Cms and with expansion 86 Cms. (Not applicable for female)
3. Weight – Minimum 50kgs (male), 46 kg (female).

Verification of Certificates:
1. Testimonials of the candidates will be checked at the time of physical test.
2. Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification and attested photocopies of
certificates will be retained with the application.
Online Test:

1. The candidates those who are passed in physical tests have to appear and pass online test.
2. Merit list is on the basis of total marks obtained in Physical test, online test other additional
marks such as NCC, Sports, and Driving License etc as mentioned above.

3. The date and place of Online test, physical standard test and Physical Efficiency test will be
informed suitably and/or the list of which will be put-up on website.
• The question paper will be to assess the general awareness/general knowledge,
knowledge of analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to
test the basic knowledge of candidate.
• Online Test :- ( Total 100 marks, includes following subjects, duration 2 hours)
a) English
b) Marathi
c) General knowledge including science
d) Logical reasoning including Mathematics

• Any mistake pertaining to (a) in-correct roll number, (b) Overwriting will not be evaluated.

• Merit List:-
1. Merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the physical test,
online test and other additional marks such as NCC, Sports, and Driving License etc as
mentioned above.
2. On the basis of this merit the candidates shall be short listed for detailed medical examination.
3. There shall not be any waiting list. ( Selected candidates list will be valid for one year)

General:-
1. Incomplete application (without photograph, signature of candidate, prescribed fees etc.) will
be rejected.
2. The candidates should make their own arrangement of staying when they are required to
undergo physical tests and written tests. No TA/DA will be admissible.
3. Candidates have to undergo physical tests in any weather condition, as and when arranged.
4. Candidates will have to appear for selection tests at their own expenses and risk.
5. The State Fire Training Center will not be responsible for any accident or injury sustained
during the selection test for admission to the course.
6. Candidate should apply only if he fulfils all the physical standards and qualification mentioned
in the advertisement to avoid any disappointment at later stage
7. Candidate has to report within prescribed time & date to the academy.

1. This is a residential course activity & will be scheduled on 24 X 7 bases with strategic breaks
for health, hygiene and physical rest etc.
2. Attendance and participation in all activities prescribed and notified from time to time is
mandatory requirement to inculcate discipline and alertness among the trainees.
3. Students are expected to be present early for the classes.
4. The course duration shall be from 06.30 hrs to 17.30hrs daily from Monday to Saturday for
both theory as well as practicals.
5. 85% attendance is compulsory to qualify for appearing in the final examination.
6. The student coming later than 10 minutes after commencement of the classes shall not be
allowed to attend the particular session.
7. Remaining absent from the classes without prior information and notice will warrant strict
disciplinary action from the authorities.
8. Any student Remaining absent from the class for more than six consecutive days will result in
termination of his admission and registration fee will stand forfeited.

Uniform & Turn Out :-

1. During training trainee must maintain clean shave, proper hair cut , up to date uniform with
polished shoes & belt and other accessories and present himself in discipline, with smart
turnout and must demonstrate exemplary behavior, failing which, the candidate will be liable
for disciplinary action as deemed fit.

Discipline :-
1. Strict discipline should be observed by the trainee while in classrooms, at training grounds or
while moving within the premises of the fire academy.
2. The Trainees are expected to come properly dressed maintaining a neat personal hygiene.
3. The campus strictly prohibits habits such as smoking, chewing gum or pan etc.
4. Indiscipline by the students shall be noted and viewed seriously by the authorities.
5. Any complaints or suggestions that need attention can be communicated to the Director.

Certification :-
1. Maharashtra Fire Service Academy will issue certificates to the students who successfully
pass the examinations conducted at the end of academic year.
2. This certificate shall be issued after 45 days from the date of the examination results.
