Why Wipro Limited?
Wipro Limited, established in 1945, is a leading global information technology, consulting and
business process services company and is among the top 3 technology services giants in the
country. It employs over 1, 60,000 people to serve clients across six continents. The company
has generated a revenue of INR 546 billion. The company went public in 1947 for roughly
$30,000. As of 2018, the company the total number of patents has applied for to 2071.

As in recent years there is a significant development in the analytics industry across the world.
Considering this the company is focused on the use of cognitive computing, hyper-automation,
robotics, cloud, analytics and emerging technologies to help clients adapt to the digital world
and make them successful.

The various innovations on which the company is focused towards are on Blockchain, 5G,
Autonomous vehicles, HMI (Human Machine Interface), Open source, robotics & smart
machines, and solutions for the Apple ecosystem. Wipro HOLMES is one of the examples of
primary products based on machine learning and artificial intelligence-powered platform that
offers cognitive services that accelerate business processes through automation.

Wipro HOLMES for business enables industries to drive digital transformation for their
business functions such as sales, finance, operations, legal and HR. It provides financially
viable cognitive solutions with capabilities such as natural language processing (NLP),
algorithmic intelligence etc.

Wipro has more than 25 offices in India. In the western region, the company is located both in
Mumbai as well as in Pune. And it will be easy for us to approach these regions due to our
acquaintances there.
As the company meets most of the mentioned criteria, that is why we have selected Wipro
Limited for our Mini Project.

Problem Statement

Wipro HOLMES is an all in one Applied AI Platform solution for the middle and large
enterprises who are interested in leveraging the benefits of AI and staying ahead in the race
of Industry 4.0 technologies. HOLMES provides services related to Data, Analytics & AI and
helps in developing custom application solutions for enhancing the digital operation and
platforms in fields of Blockchain, cybersecurity, enterprise risk, DevOps, IoT along with helping
various management areas such as product life-cycle management, risk management,
enterprise solution management etc.

In this digitized world driven by AI, the major challenge faced by HOLMES will be through IBM
Watson (Exhibit 1 & 3), Google TensorFlow, Microsoft Azure Intelligence Platform, etc.
especially in the field of big data gathering, securitization of data, providing new solutions and
their excessive R&D (Exhibit 4 & 5). With the new stringent policies for data around the world.
Improvement and R&D in the field of AI & ML are becoming challenging as well as risky in
terms of legal litigation and myriad of privacy laws.

Objectives & Questions

Objective: To enhance the satisfaction of the client organization working in the various field
by leveraging the potential of Applied AI Platform Solution with increased R & D while
maintaining the compliance to Laws specific to data privacy, confidentiality and security and
keeping edge above the global AI platforms.
Questions:
1. What are the technologies and domain expertise required to compete in the AI & ML field?
2. How to leverage the Applied AI platform to provide unified, immersive and adaptive
experience for the organization?
3. What are the challenges currently facing in the development of natural language processing
to improve ChatBot functionality?
4. What is available software and hardware solution paradigm to support the business
environment using the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain and augmented intelligence?
5. How to anonymize and provide robust data privacy, security to the organization while
keeping the learning and training tools flexible enough to continuously evolve and improve?
6. How to converge the technological advancement in the various related field of Big Data,
IoT, BlockChain and cloud computing to gain the cutting-edge advantage in delivering the
seamless and enhanced experience to the organization at a reasonable and cost-effective
price?
7. How to improve the usability of the HOLMES solution by data localization and language
interpretability in various Indian Language and global clients in local languages?

While global AI power is trying to provide generalized AI solution which can be modified and
updated according to the requirement in term of single AI platform solution. HOLMES need to
differentiate its offering by combining various specialized field with a customized solution
specific to the need of the organization while maintaining the cost-effectiveness.
Since it is focused more on middle and large enterprises, HOLMES can provide small scale
enterprises with a flexible web-based subscription model of it Generalised AI CHATBOT to
add value to the solution.
