BUSY BINDER

LETTER ACTIVITIES

DIRECTIONS
Thank you so much for purchasing this busy learning binder. I hope that
you and your children/students find this to be a valuable hands on
learning tool in your home/classroom.

The activities within this file can be used in a variety of different ways. You
can choose to provide the activities individually or you can put them
together in a binder (or several binders) for an easy to grab activity binder.

The steps for prep are the same whether you are going to use these
individually or in a binder, but you will need to hole punch the ones for a
binder. Laminating all pages will increase the durability.

Each of the individual skill files will explain the different pages for each
activity and how you can use them with your children.

If using a binder(s), I have provided a couple different cover pages you

can slide down in the front of the binder in this pdf below.

SUPPLIES
BINDER or BINDERS
Velcro Dots
Velcro Strip
Laminating Pouches
Laminator
Hole Punch
Scissors

If choosing to use these in other ways, you may need some additional
manipulatives.

HELPFUL TIPS
You can print on regular printer paper and laminate these pages for your
binder/work activities and they are plenty sturdy enough.

Each SKILL SECTION comes with a different colored HEADER across the top
so that you can easily group similar pages together and makes storing
pages easier when not in use or finding pages if they get misplaced.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you buy your Velcro dots and strips in bulk to save
you money. Even if you end up not using all of them, it is still exceptionally
cheaper to purchase them in bulk than it is to buy them in small packs
from a craft store. I have linked the sets that I use under the supplies
section and they work great and are extra sticky so they will withstand lots
of use.

All pages with a pair of scissors on the bottom are the pages that you will
be cutting apart. I did this so it was easy to differentiate between cutting
pages and pages that stay whole.
You will use the Velcro strips on any page that has a grey strip on the
page. You will place the Velcro on each strip of grey you see. Velcro dots
will be adhered to the individual pieces and any spot on the page that
gets a piece, but doesn’t have a Velcro strip. See each individual file for
details. I like to put the soft side of the Velcro down on the actual binder
page and then the scratchy part on the pieces.

STORING TIPS
To store the pieces for each page that does not have a storage
strip attached to the sheet, you can do a couple of different
things, both of which have worked well for us.

You can also add Velcro to

the back of the adjacent
page and stick the pieces to
it. This will allow you to have
all of the pieces right there
ready for you and have a
simple place to put them
when the activity is
complete.

You can place the pieces in a baggie and

then add a dot sticker or some kind of
identifying mark to the baggie AND the
bottom corner of the page. You can then
store the baggies in a pencil pouch in the
front of the binder. When your child comes to
a page that they need pieces for they can
look at the corner of the page, find the color
dot you have put there, and then go and
find the bag with the same color dot. This will
help to keep all of the additional pieces
organized and together and keep them with
the correct page in the binder.

DIRECTIONS
This file contains a variety of different pages to practice letter matching. Several
versions of each activity have been included to easily differentiate the activity. One
version includes each of the letters in alphabetical order and the other version
includes the letters out of order. The files at the end of this file can be used to
practice capital to lowercase letter matching and vice versa if your children are
beyond matching capital to capital and lowercase to lowercase. You will use the
same letter tiles included under the individual matching sets.

PLEASE NOTE: Each of the matching activity mats have been formatted so that you
can put the Velcro dot BELOW each of the letters. This will allow you to use any kind
of Velcro dot and not cover up any of the letter.

You can place the Velcro Dots in the center of the alphabetical order mat. All dots
on the pieces will go in the center.

All files to be cut include a pair of scissors in the bottom corner.

These activity mats would also be great to pair with letter manipulatives like alphabet
magnets or alphabet erasers if you didn’t want to include them in a binder.

DIRECTIONS

These pages are meant for practicing tracing and writing letters. There are
3 different versions of each set available for you to choose from for your
child. Choose the page or pages that are best for them and their writing
level. Use a dry erase marker to practice tracing/writing the alphabet.

To store the pieces for each page that

does not have a storage strip attached
to the sheet, I place the pieces in a
baggie and I then add a dot sticker or
some kind of identifying mark to the
baggie AND the bottom corner of the
page. I then store the baggies in a pencil
pouch in the front of the binder. When
your child comes to a page that they
need pieces for they can look at the
corner of the page, find the color dot
you have put there, and then go and
find the bag with the same color dot. This
will help to keep all of the additional
pieces organized and together and
keep them with the correct page in the
binder.
