The Open University of Hong Kong is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and it is time to look back on the
achievements over the past three decades. Today the OUHK has evolved into an innovative, dynamic and
full-fledged university offering both undergraduate and post graduate programmes to about 10,000 full-time and
9,000 part-time students.
The OUHK is a pioneer of open and distance education. Established by the Government in 1989 as The Open Learning
Institute of Hong Kong (OLI), it has striven to achieve the mission of “Education for All”, Over 1,200 guests including
government officials, friends, supporters, council members, staff, alumni and students joined the banquet, making this
anniversary event a memorable one.
 ADVISORY PEER GROUP
SCHOOL OF NURSING AND HEALTH STUDIES
Dr Eric Chun-Pu Chu has been appointed as the
advisory peer group (APG) of School of Nursing
and Health Studies at the Open University. As the
APG, his role is to advise the university on
1) design of degree programs
2) development, adaptation, delivery methods of
courses
3) planning and teaching the courses
4) learning and assessment strategies adapted
5) relationship of courses and programs to relevant
to external bodies likely to regonize them
The APG is extremely important to maintain
regorious internal processes of quality assurance.
This also gies the profession an opportunity to
influence one of the biggest healthcare studies
school of Hong Kong. The analysis of content,
assessment of each course, and regulation
governing how the courses may be grouped will
be carried out with the APG to fulfill the mandate
by the government of HKSAR, and the senate and
council of HKOU.

The Ministry of National Defense (MND)

of the People's Republic of China is a
ministry under the State Council. It is
headed by the Minister of National
Defense. The MND was set up
according to a decision adopted by the
1st Session of the 1st National People's
Congress in 1954.

Musculoskeletal injuries are one of the

Dr Li Pong was appointed as lecturer of
the medical team at the MND. He
serves as a chiropractic and healthcare
expert in training and scientific military

The 2020 Summer Olympics is commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming

international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August
2020 in Tokyo, Japan, with preliminary events in some sports beginning on 22 July.

Tokyo was selected as the host city during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos
Aires, Argentina on 7 September 2013. This will be the second time that Tokyo has hosted
the Summer Olympic Games, the first being in 1964. It is also the first city in Asia to host
the summer Olympic Games twice, and overall the fourth Olympics to be held in Japan.
