Uniforms in the school

Sarajevo, januar, 2020. god.

 Hi, my name is Merima Mehanović. I am 24 years old and I study on University in
Sarajevo. Today, I will talk you about uniforms in the school, why is it good for our children in
the school, or for students on the University.

A school uniform is a standard set of clothing students wear when they go to

some schools. It might have a particular color of trousers or skirt, plus a matching shirt and
perhaps a jacket or necktie, with matching shoes. School uniforms began their revolution in
private schools; they represented a unique appearance, and provided a safe environment for the
students attending.

In some countries, like Germany, students can wear anything they like when they go to
school. In other countries, like England, there is usually a standard dress code in school, usually
a set of dressing for girls and one for boys. Boys and girls need to wear school uniforms when
they go to school. In many countries, such as the United States, some schools require wearing
a uniform, and some do not.

Originally, school uniforms were introduced to hide the social differences between
students, but uniforms can also help with safety. Using standard uniforms can also save
the money needed to buy extra clothes as fashion to impress other people at school. Uniforms
are also thought to improve discipline and school spirit.

However, school uniforms can also help with health and safety by having clothes which
have been tested to be safer when worn. Some fabrics can cause skin rashes in some people,
while a uniform can be made of comfortable fabrics. Also, loose-fitting clothes can get caught
in machinery or playground equipment, which limits what activities children can do safely.

There are several types of economic bullying which can be lessened by use of school
uniforms. When many students are from families with less money, sometimes students with
more money have stood out because they wore newer shoes, where neither shoe was in poor
shape. In schools where more students are rich, poorer students have been insulted for the old-
style or tattered clothes they wore.

Many students wear expensive clothes, while the others wear the cheap ones. By the wearing
way, they know that who are rich, and poor. Therefore, it will make a difference between
students and create discrimination, which means there are two group that exist in a school: the
wealthy and the poor. Besides, wearing many kinds of clothes can make the class look like a
mess. For example, few students wear red clothes, some wear blue clothes, while some wear
clothes that have many colors, and they all study in a class.

When teachers look the whole class, they will feel that it is not so different from a big
and colorful mess. Thus, I think schools should require students to wear uniforms to prevent
this situation. The second reason is that wearing uniforms can help everyone know they are
students and their schools. This is very convenient in many aspects. For instance, if a student
do a lot of good things such as helping old people, or returning the things that they have
collected, people will think that the student are taught very well, and the school that the student
are studying is very good at education. Thus, the school’s reputation is spread out, which is
very helpful for the school.

The third reason is that wearing school uniforms is a beautiful tradition and very
meaning to students. The uniform has existed for thousand years and many schools still keep it
to now. Wearing uniforms is a beauty of schools’ cultural, so there is no reason to remove that
tradition. In addition, the uniforms show the prettiness of every student. Male students look
stronger, and female students look more beautiful while wearing uniforms. Moreover, wearing
them in a long time make students to feel sympathetic with them, and to love their uniforms
and schools more. In conclusion, wearing school uniforms is better than wearing what students
want. It is not only convenient, but also very important to the school and students. Besides that,
it is also a beautiful cultural of a school. Therefore, although few people do not like to wear
them, students should wear them, and feel proud of them because it is the symbol of their school.

Schools should have uniforms for students so they can be distinguished between grade
levels and to have all students dress the same way and offer some protection. Students might
be against it because they want to wear regular clothes to impress other students. School
uniform should be allowed in private as well in public schools because it will help schools
distinguish students, people and prevent inappropriate dressing.

Also, I think that are uniforms in the school very nice, interesting and good for children,
and I like that to keep uniforms in all schools.
