PROPOSED BUDGET: No budget required

SYSTEM OF ELIMINATION: Single Elimination with consolation

I. RATIONALE:

The declaration of principles and state policies of the 1987 Constitution provides that ”
The state shall promote Physical education and encourage sports league competition and amateur
sports to develop physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of an individual for a
healthy and alert citizenry.” It shall inculcate in the youth the importance of fitness and good
values derived through their participation in the physical fitness activities like sports.

To give flesh to the mandate, the state and the department of Education shall establish
Physical education as an integral part of the educational system thus, the creation of school based
athletic competition where students showcases their talents and skills in the field of sports.

In anticipation of City of Ilagan Athletic Meet 2019, Integrated Secondary Schools as

one cluster/ team shall conduct a 2 day selection of athletes to compose the team during the said
athletic meet. Aside from the above mentioned objective, the Sports meet aims to develop skills,
talents and values formation of the youth. The value of teamwork, sportsmanship, goodwill and
discipline and other life skill must be imbedded in every athlete. This the first step towards the
fulfilment of these endeavors.

II. OBJECTIVES:

A. To select athletes to represent ISSAA-Integrated Secondary Schools Athletic Association

during the City of Ilagan Athletic Meet 2019.
B. To promote the spirit of sportsmanship, Discipline, teamwork, camaraderie and other life
skills inherent in the practice and participation in sports.
C. To lay the groundwork for the organization of ISSAA-Integrated Secondary Schools
Athletic Association.
