PSALMS 116:12-14

“What is your Vow unto the Lord?”

The Vow means a solemn promise. The difference between Vow and Promise is that a
promise will fail. (Example: The wedding; Promise – Beyb Promise di tika biyaan bisan unsa pa
kabaho sa imong ilok, after a year nakabagat nag laen kay adto pay mas baho na iya gusto).
Promises are meant to be broken. Kamo mga boys, ayaw mo pa-alig alig ug Promise kung di ninyo
kaya panindigan. Kamo sab mga babaye ayaw pud mo pataka ug dawat sa ilang promises. Control
your emotions. Study first, dapat may prinsipyo kamo. Ayaw pagpa-easy easy ky inin mga lalake
abtik mu-take advantage. But you know what, there is one person who promised and He will never
break it because of His Love towards us. (John 3:16)
Eternal life is one of the greatest promise that we receive in Life after Death.
Why death is our Destiny ? 3 elements of Life (Flesh, Soul and Spirit; human spirit and Holy Spirit)
(Discuss the Fall of Sin)
God made human after His likeness.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
- God is Holy, Human also is Holy. Meaning no sin at all.
After the likeness of Adam.
Genesis 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and
after his image;
Death means Separation. We are dead spiritually in the eyes of the Lord because we are sinners by
nature and by choice.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:12 Nakasulod sa kalibotan ang sala pina-agi sa usa ka tawo, ug ang sala nag dalag
kamatayon (death of the flesh), Busa mikaylap ang kamatayon sa tanang katawhan kay nakasala
man ang tanan tawo.
But don’t worry because God did not forsaken you, there’s still chance to have a relationship
with God.

Psalms 116:12 Unsay ibalos ko sa Ginoo tungod sa iyang kamaayo sa ako ?

I – The Benefits
Even we are sinners, we can still receive blessings.
- Daily Life (God give you chances to live every day because di siya gusto na mawala ka
aning kalibutan without the assurance na ma-adto ka sa langit)
Food and Shelter, Family, Friends, Money, Protection, etc.
Question: Can you repay that ?
If you will do good deeds, it’s not enough for Him. Dili sa imong pagka-marajaw sija nag base para
ma-satisfy sija.

v. 13 Dawaton ko ang copa sa kaluwasan, Ug pagasangpiton ko ang ngalan sa Ginoo.

II – The Salvation
Salvation meaning deliverance from sin or to be rescued from sin.
We should receive & apply the salvation para mabalik nato ang relasyon diha sa Ginoo.
Question: In what way ? How can we receive the Salvation ? There are two ways:
1. Repentance – Acts. 3:19 Busa, paghinulsol kamo, ug pamalik na kamo kaniya, aron
mapaya ang inyong mga sala, aron ang mga panahon sa kahayahay magaabut gikan sa
atubangan sa Ginoo
Repentance meaning turn away from sin. Change of Mind. Kung mao ni imo mga binuhatan sa
una, pag hinulsol nimo dapat ayaw na utroha an mga saya na imo gibuhat.
We should repent heartily. Dili ky nag repent ka tapos mubalik ra gihapon sa sala.
Remember this: WE ARE FREE TO DO A SIN, BUT WE CANNOT CHOOSE THE
CONSEQUENCES OF GOD.
2. Faith – Pag salig sa Ginoo pina-agi kan Jesus Christ
Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
John 1:12 Apan sa tanang midawat kaniya, sa tanang mitoo sa iyang ngalan (JESUS
CHRIST), kanila naghatag siyag kagahum sa pagkahimong mga anak sa Dios.
Mahimo na kita niyang anak kung ikaw nag Repent ug nag Faith diha sa Ginoo pina-agi ni
Jesus Christ. (Example: Diba ang Papa ug ang anak pag good terms Gana ang relasyon, pero kung
ang anak nag bugal bugal, dili sila mag tingogay pero an Gugma sa Amahan naa ra gihapon nag
pabilin sa Anak, tinagaan gihapon nan bayon bisan buga bugalon, amo sab jaun an Ginoo sa ato)
Mao na ang Salvation. I will take the cup of Salvation. Means to say, Repent and Have Faith
for you to take that Cup.

v. 14 Magabayad ako sa akong mga panaad kang Jehova, Oo, diha sa atubangan sa tanan niyang
katawohan.

III – The Vow

Now that God hath promised us an eternal life, and He is faithful for this.
His Promise according to Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
His Love according to Romans 5:8
Ky Dios nagpadayag sa iyang gugma alang kanato pinaagi niini, na bisan sa mga makasasala pa kita
si Cristo nagpakamatay alang kanato.

Jesus is the only Way in Heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me.

Question: kung nasabtan nimo ang ako mensahe karun. An ako pangutana What is Your
Vow unto the Lord ?
Unsa man ang imong layum na panaad diha atubangan sa Ginoo ?
Is it for the material that you change ?
Is it from your bad deeds to good deeds ?
Is it your personality ? Di na na tan-awon sa Ginoo.
What about the Salvation ? Kanus-a paman ka maghinulsol sa imong mga sala ? Ugma na
ba ?
What if mu-abot ang kamatayon unya wala pa nimo gidawat si Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Personal savior, you will be cast into the Lake of Fire nga napuno sa pag antos.
Revelations 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death.
(Apan alang sa mga talawan, ug sa mga dili matinoohon, ug sa mga malaw-ay, alang sa mga
mamomono, ug sa mga makihilawason, ug sa mga lumayan, ug sa mga magsisimbag mga diosdios,
ug sa tanang mga bakakon, ang ilang bahin mao ang paghiadto sa linaw nga nagasilaob sa kalayo ug
asupri, nga mao ang ikaduhang kamatayon.")

So what is your Vow unto the Lord ??
