ABSTRACT

An embarrassing incident should be handled cautiously. An embarrassing question should be replied intelligently.
An embarrassing mistake should be rectified immediately.

INTRODUCTION

Creative writing is based more on manifestation rather than on expression. It does not inform rather reveals, so
this style of writing bears no reference. The best creative writing is critical, and the best critical writing is creative. The
present article is the outcome of creative writing meant for lay readers. As such free style is the methodology adopted so
that pleasure of reading can be enjoyed by the readers in general. As you may know Francis Bacon (1561-1626), the
immortal essayist, wrote many essays and notably, “Of Love”, “Of Friendship”, “Of Ambition”, “Of Studies”, etc. The
myriad-minded genius rightly pointed out that all the words of the dictionary can be the themes of essays one can write.
But little has been done, in this regard since his death, in order to finish his unfinished monumental works. In fact Bacon's
way of presentation i.e., his unique style kindled the imagination already in me and encouraged me as well to write essays,
in the light of creative writing, thus to get relief through Catharsis.

OF EMBARRASSMENT

Embarrassment means shy, awkward or guilty feelings. It is to make somebody feel awkward, ashamed or self-
conscious. A self-conscious person suffers from ego. Such a person is affected much from embarrassment.

Embarrassment implies excessive amount. It means overabundance. Both excess and abundant amount of
anything either may cause trouble or perplex a person or both simultaneously. Thus it is sufficiently enough to unsettle a
settled person. So everybody is afraid of embarrassment. As such everybody tries to avoid it. But none can escape it. Only
a fortunate judicious person can tackle the embarrassed situation somehow, seldom a fool.

Embarrassment is to make uncomfortably self-conscious. It causes confusion and shame. It is to disconcert. It is to

abash. It is to make more difficult or intricate, as a question or problem. It is to complicate. It is to hinder. It is to perplex. It
is to put obstacles or difficulties in the way of. It is to impede. A speech designed to embarrass the government is the tool
of the opponent and both widely and wisely used everywhere in politics. The latest rise in unemployment has proved
extremely embarrassing to all the governments round the globe be they developed or undeveloped nation, it matters little.

Embarrassment means to encumber. It is to put out of countenance. It constrains. It obstructs. It hampers. It is to

cause difficulties for somebody. It is to beset with financial difficulties. It is to burden with debt. It is to involve in
difficulty, especially in money matters. Embarrassed by lack of money is quite painful. The poor is financially embarrassed
from cradle to coffin.

A tender soul is embarrassed by the comments about his plain clothes. To him plain living and high thinking

should be the motto of all. But in modern era this motto is quite invalid. Some smart persons tease other casual wearers.
They think everybody will be smart. They either laugh at or rebuke the innocent persons. Thus an outsmart tries to
embarrassan unsmart guy. An embarrassed Clarissa nervously slipped her wine. There was an embarrassed silence. That
blunt question embarrassed me. Her movements were embarrassed by her loose garments.

Embarrassment highlights about people or their behaviour or at something. A shy person feels embarrassed at
being the centre of attention. This usually happens in case of newly-married bride in the patriarchal society. An intelligent
or sly person avails the opportunity of this highlightment properly since they know chance comes once. If a fool tries to
embarrass a wise person then it may act as boomerang and the fool may itself be embarrassed instead, thus being paid back
by its own coin. As such a wise always looks before he leaps, lest he be embarrassed.

Man is embarrassed. He has to be embarrassed. He is bound to be embarrassed. Thus man faces embarrassed
situation willy-nilly infinite times from cradle to coffin. In fact a wise never becomes the cause of embarrassment but a
fool. Also the unfortunate fool becomes the victim of this social event either knowingly or unknowingly. A person either
may become shy or awkward or ashamed or all together for an embarrassing event. Different people react differently
against this stimulus. It solely depends on the personality pattern of the concerned individual.

Also a man becomes the cause of embarrassment to other many times. To embarrass or not to embarrass depends
on the personality trait. Some persons bear it. Some persons bear it not. Some person’sbe self-captive in home thereby
detach all social communications. Those who cannot bear it become violent and beats the teaser even mercilessly.
Sometimes an ill-tempered or emotional person being unable to bear the pain of insult caused by awkward situation
commits suicide.

An expert can manage the embarrassing situation seldom a callous one. The expert can manage the environment
through humour or politeness. He is a cool-tempered person. He is really a genius. Sometimes the genius tackles the
situation by violent action against the teaser. Obviously it is rare. Also the wise uses the stick only under compulsion like
firing of police personnel to avoid further danger.

He who suffers a good deal of embarrassment in his youth becomes very alert later on. Education and knowledge
pave the way to overcome with embarrassment at the idea. Much to the embarrassment of ministers, the proposals are
leaked to the press. A person or thing that embarrasses somebody is quite frustrating and causes annoyance. Financial
embarrassment is a serious hindrance towards the development of a poor nation.

A mad son is an embarrassment to his family. Because sometimes he obeys, sometimes he obeys not. Thus his
mood and motif are gloriously so embarrassedly uncertain. His bad manners embarrass her mother most severely. Mother
is embarrassed easily. Mother bears it silently. A prodigal son takes this advantage and tortures, harasses thereby
embarrasses mother violently. Yet mother weeps silently. That’s why mother is great. That’s why mother is greatest of all.
But a married man cannot tell it in presence of her angry wife.

Embarrassment, abash, discomfit, disconcert are synonymous. To embarrass is to cause to feel ill at ease so as to
result in a loss of composure. For example; she was embarrassed by their compliments. Abash implies a sudden loss of
self-confidence and a growing feeling of shame or inadequacy. For example; She stood abashed at his rebukes. Discomfit
implies a frustration of plans or expectations and often connotes a resultant feeling of discomposure or humiliation. To
disconcert is to cause someone to lose self-possession quickly, resulting in confusion or mental disorganization. For
example; His interruptions were disconcerting. Rattle and faze are equivalents for disconcert, but rattle emphasises

emotional agitation, and the latter is most commonly used in negative constructions. For example; Danger does not faze
him.

Embarrassment may take place due to child, fiancé or fiancée, rivals, etc. Child can be excused. There is no
problem if embarrassment is invited to provoke gentle humour. But it must be within limit. It must not hurt sentiment.
Beyond limit it is too bad. In case of fiancée the fiancé must be very cautious to embarrass his lady in love.

A man spends to overcome embarrassed situation. A miser spends not, whatever may be the embarrassing
situation. He is so base. If a base is embarrassed then the initiator feels embarrassed, for its ugly outcome. As such anelite
avoids a mean. A high birth avoids a low birth to avoid its filthy languages which are more than embarrassing.

In case of rivalry there is no upper limit of breaking courtesy thereby to embarrass the opponent by any means fair
or foul. Here both the opponents break the barrier and cross all boundaries of all norm and normal. Thus for creating
embarrassment they are equal and at par.

CONCLUSION

An embarrassing incident should be handled cautiously. An embarrassing question should be replied intelligently.
An embarrassing mistake should be rectified immediately.
