Instructional Procedures:
Planned beginning:
-Tell the students that they will learn about our different body parts.
-Start the lesson by mentioning that, every day in our life, we use our body parts. When we
walk, we use our legs. When we write on the board, we use our hands and fingers. Then our
body parts help us to do many things.
Body:
-Ask each student to mention one body part he or she sees in his or her friend.
- Display on the projector a picture showing "head of a boy" with arrows towards the hair, the
ears, the eyes, the mouth, the cheek, and the neck.
- Ask students, “by raising your hands, who can state one body part that he or she is seeing in
the picture?” While the students are mentioning the body parts, the teacher will be writing
each part in its correct place.
-Display another picture showing "head of a girl" without labeling.
-Now, call on students’ names randomly to come to the board and label the parts of the head
(eyebrows, lips, teeth, a nose, and a tongue).
-Display a picture for different body parts (forehead, chest, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers,
feet, toes, legs, knees, and tummy) without labeling and ask students “by raising your hands,
who can state one body part that he or she is seeing in the picture?” While the students are
mentioning the body parts, the teacher will be writing each part in its correct place.
-Now put the cardboard on the board, representing a human body, and distribute cards for the
students, with a single body part written on each one.
-Tell the students that each one will read what is written on the flashcard and come to the
board to stick it on the right place of the body.
-After assuring that all students participate, repeat the same process and call students’ names
randomly to match each card with the right place.
Closure:
-I will put students in pairs and distribute worksheets for students to label different body parts
they learn in this session.
Assessment:
Formative:
-Label diagrams of different body parts.
