San Emilio: A Beauty to Behold

In this world, there are several sceneries and creations of God that have been
discovered. Some are already determined in different places outside the country. But there
are also some beautiful places which are not yet discovered and this is the so called
“Hidden Paradise”.
As a citizen of San Emilio, I am proud that our town possesses beautiful places. One
of these is “Payegpeg Falls”- the hidden paradise of San Emilio. Payegpeg is the Ilocano
term of trembling. Payegpeg is a place where flowing water rapidly drops in elevation as it
flows over a steep region or a cliff. As we explored the place, I feel so blessed. The nice
view of the place makes me feel special. We passed by the green fields, mountains and
creek. While we were walking, I was thinking how wonderful and creative God is. We
can’t even feel exhaustion because of its beauty and ambiance.
The first time we went there, it was raining so hard and it was so dangerous for us
to hike out. But the second time we went there, the weather was fine causing us to enjoy
the adventure.
There are children who were playing and enjoying the place even if it doesn’t excite
them to see its beauty anymore for they live near the falls in their entire life. We also saw a
father and son tandem collecting stones. I felt curious what’s with the stone. To my
surprise, they weren’t stones but instead they were crabs. What a simple way of finding
food to eat and in order for their family to live.
When we reached the place, everyone was speechless. WOW! That was the first
word we have uttered upon seeing the beauty of Payegpeg. We never expected that there’s
a hidden paradise in that shady and secluded area.
Because of excitement and eagerness, we can’t control ourselves anymore. The
beauty of the falls attracts us and conveys a message similar to this, “Come tourist and
great explorers, try me and get relaxed.” Indeed, the water together with the high
mountains adjoining us offered an unforgettable, luxurious, relaxing and entertaining
experience.
While we were on our way home, the attractiveness, exquisiteness, magnificence of
the place left a mark in our hearts.
Exploring the beauty of is very nice and comforting. This place leaves an
extraordinary moment in my life. It was such a secret place, the land kind of
