2. Selecting the right wood

3. Outlining and Carving
Once the wood has been seasoned, the next step is outlining. We need to define
the size and shape of wood which need to be taken for creating an outline edge
using a template and chiseling the edges to bring a particular shape and all the

detailing.
4. Detailing
Initially, a rough carving is carvedmanually with basic tools like chisels, hammer

5. Nailing and Assembling
Now smaller pieces are nailed together which provides durability to woods and
assembled in a beautiful manner and carved again if required.
6. Finishing
After the complete process of crafting is completed, Smoothening the surface is
done using sandpaper that gives a fine touch and textures.Then natural oil such
as Linseed or Walnut oil is applied by artisans so as to preserve those woods from
dirt, dust, moisture, bad weather, termites, waterproof and finally to protect from
insects and worm attacks. Oil gives a sheen to the texture and a gloss varnish is
also coated to give a lustrous effect.
