A combined process and treatment which considerably reduces
micro-organism penetration into the coated fabric.
Throughout the fabric, it creates on a microscopic level, capillarity
blockers which halt migration.
• The LOWICK coating is actually made deep inside the fabric (the
yarns are totally soaked). It lowers the moisture and prevents the
penetration of micro-organisms: deterioration and ageing are
reduced. It prevents the « pink staining » following the yarns in the
fabric. It allows as well a stronger adhesion of the coating on the
base cloth, as well as a softer handle.

• The LOWICK treatment on yarn proposed by our competitors is

usually costing 5 to 10% more than the usual price. All our fabrics
are Lowick processed at the same price.

The classification system includes 7 European Euroclasses:

A1 and A2: non-combustible

B: a low combustible product

C: combustible

D: a highly combustible product

E: produces highly flammable and flame spread

F: Not classified or not tested

Two additional classifications related to the production of smoke on the one hand, and flaming
droplets or particles on the other hand, complete the main Euroclass, except for Class A1.The
glass wool and rock are generally classified A1, covered with a veil of glass or aluminum pure
A1 or A2, surfaced with a Kraft paper: F.

- PVC in itself has FR properties

- Chalk component used in blends for basic tarpaulins is replaced

by flame retardant chemicals: Chlorine, Bromine, Antimony
oxide (Sb2 O3), Alumina Trihydrate Al OH3

- Some coaters use FR plasticizers + Chorine paraffin  ageing

risks through “exudation”

- Key: the proper quantities, which reinforces as well the anti-UV

performance, and the right ratio of plasticizers for suppleness
and weldability.

 SUNBLOCK: our Block-out fabric

• Opaque version of the LAC650SL: the inner layers of coating

are black i.o. white, and to cover properly these black layers, the
outer layers are thickened, explaining the higher weight (850
grs).
• The outer white layer will reflect most of the solar heat
(typically more than 70 % for the white colour). What has not
been reflected will be totally absorbed by the black inner layer.
Only a part of the heat that has not been absorbed will be
remitted under the fabric. If the outer layer is other than white,
the darker it is, the higher the % of absorption will be and the
overall efficiency will decrease.
• As it is: nice weapon against solar heat. On the other hand, it
cuts 100 % of the light. Therefore also asked for hiding the dirt…
