Orinoco Wood Chip mill and export facilities is designed for producing and
exporting 1 million metrict tons per year of caribbean pine wood chips, the
complex receives logs by truck from local plantations, processes the logs into
chips and stores and conveys the chips via network of belt conveyors to the
dock where the chips are loaded into ocean-going vsl`s the dock is located on
the northem bank of orinoco river at mile 167 from orinoco seabuoy near to
punta piedra, about 20 miles downstream from puerto pordaz city.

The dock consist of two (2) breasting dolphins, each of which support a
slewing, luffing and 2 telescoping ship loaders, a central support tower which
supports a belt conveyor transfer and control tower, five (5) mooring buoys,
and a conveyor belt / walkway bridge which connects the landing site
conveyor belt system with the dock central tower.
Breasting dolphins are arranged in the east – west direction, 87 meters
apartand in water depth which allows docking of vessels upto 54.000 dwt
capacityit throughhout the year. shiploader design capacity is 1.000 mt xx hr.

Pilot:
Vessel with loa over 170 mtrs.: Is compulsory that river pilot board and
disembark the vessel at mile 0.1 inbound / outbound by helicopter and only
during daylight from 0630 hrs. upto 1730 hrs.
Vessel with loa less 170 mtrs.: River pilot board the vessel by boat at mile 27
(punta barima pilot station) inbound and will disembark the vessel by boat
at mile 32 outbound – 24 hrs.
