Step1. How to prepare the USB Memory Drive

1. Save the firmware file into your computer.

File Name : 2009 DTV S4 firmware.exe

2. Connect the USB Memory Drive

to the USB port of your PC.
Copy the file into the USB Memory Drive.

3. Go to the USB Memory Drive and then double click the file.

4. Click on the “Unzip” button. 5. Unzipping is in progress.

6. After completing, click on the 7. Two folders containing the firmware files
“OK” and “Close” buttons. have been added to the USB memory drive.
One is “T-STL3FAUSHC” and
the other is “T-STL5PAUSFC”

8. Safely disconnect the USB memory drive

OK by right clicking the green check mark
on the taskbar and then left click
“Safely Remove”.
 9. Turn your TV on, and then insert
the USB Memory Drive containing
the firmware into the USB port
on the rear of the TV

10. Press the MENU button to display

11. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select
the menu. Press the ▲ or ▼ button
“Software Upgrade”, then press the
to select “Support”, then press the
ENTER button.

12. The message “Scanning for USB.
It may take up to 30 seconds”
is displayed.
13. Then, the message “Upgrade
Version XXXX to version XXXX?
The system will be reset after
upgrade.” is displayed.
Select “Yes”, then press the ENTER
button.

※ Important
If the firmware version you downloaded from the Samsung website
or received from Samsung is older than or has a lower version
number than the version on your TV, do not install it.
 ※ Do not pull the USB drive out or
unplug the power cable until
complete

14. When the software upgrade is

complete; the TV will turn off and
then back on by itself.
Proceed with the ‘Plug & Play’
setup.

15. Once ‘Plug & Play’ is complete;

“Enjoy your watching.” is displayed.
Press the ‘Enter’ key and you are
done.

※ Important
If the firmware version you downloaded from the Samsung website
or received from Samsung is older than or has a lower version
number than the version on your TV, do not install it.
