Addendum 1 Preface

This Addendum 1 to JIS G 3466 is based on the Industrial Standardization Law and has been
deliberated by the Japan Industrial Standards Committee, There JIS G 3466: shows the only
content which amended the 2015. JIS G 3466: 2015 has been revised to JIS G 3466: 2016.

Until May 19, 2017, JIS standards based on the provisions of the relevant provisions, such as
Article 19, Paragraph 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law, were adopted. In mark marking
certification, JIS G 3466: 2015 can be used.

JIS G 3466: 2015 is amended as follows.

In Clause 2 (Cited Standards), the shape, dimensions, mass and tolerances of JIS G 3193 hot
rolled steel sheets and strips are added.

Replace Clause 8 (Appearance) with the following sentence:

8 Appearance

The appearance of the square steel pipe is as follows.

a) Square steel pipes shall have no harmful disadvantages in use.

b) Regarding the surface finishing and plating of rectangular steel pipes, if there is a special
request, it shall be agreed between the delivery and delivery parties.
c) If surface care is to be performed, grinder care or welding support shall be provided in
accordance with Clause 7 (Appearance) of JIS G 3193. You may perform
repairs. However, when used for architectural columns, welding repair of corners shall
not be performed.

NOTE in Clause 7 of JIS G 3193, the thickness after care for the grinder shall be within
the thickness tolerance range.

d) Harmful disadvantages of welds may be repaired by welding. However, when used for
architectural pillars, the corner repairs must not be made. When performing welding
repairs, the harmful disadvantages of the weld are that chipping or It is completely
removed by a suitable method such as a grinder. Weld repair depends on the type of steel
and the characteristics of the weld. It must be done in an appropriate and appropriate
manner. Weld repairs shall be in smooth contact with adjacent perimeters and the original
weld bead, and shall be cleanly finished.
e) The care marks must follow the shape of the square steel pipe smoothly.
