E300 Electronic Overload Relay Standalone DeviceLogix Editor 

If a user would like to create a custom DeviceLogix program without Automatic Device Configuration 
support, a programming tool is included with v5.00 and v6.02 of the E300 AOP.  This document will 
explain how to configure the E300 with the Add on Profile and use the external DeviceLogix 
programming tool. 

Prepare the E300 
Download and install the latest version of the E300 AOP on your PC.  

Access the webpage and follow the steps below: 

The E300 will only support custom DeviceLogix programs when the Operating Mode is set to Custom – 
Monitor (Parameter 164 = 54).  Use the E300 Webpage to configure the parameters. Set P164 to 
“CustomMonitor” and click “Apply”.  

 
Set parameters P346 and P347 to Enable, then click “Apply”. 
  
Start the DeviceLogix Custom Program Editor 
The E300 v5.00 and v6.02 Add on Profile includes a programming utility to create, save, view, upload, 
and download custom DeviceLogix programs.  To run the utility, double click on the VB Script file 
E300DeviceLogix.vbs which is located in the file directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell 
Software\RSLogix 5000\Module Profiles\RA Motor Protection. 

 
 

If your computer is configured to not run Visual Basic Script files by your information technology group, 
copy the file 00010003028B0500.dlx and paste it in file directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell 
Software\RSLogix 5000\Module Profiles\RA ArmorStart Common.   
  
 

Start the DeviceLogix editor by double clicking on the file ASDeviceLogix.exe located in file directory 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\RSLogix 5000\Module Profiles\RA ArmorStart Common. 

Create a DeviceLogix Program 
In the DeviceLogix editor program, create a new project for the E300 (193‐ECM‐ETR).   
     
Create a new program by selecting Edit Program ‐> Offline in the Tools menu.  Select the style of editor 
you would like to create the custom DeviceLogix program in (Function Block or Ladder Logix). 

        
Create the custom DeviceLogix program. 

 
 
When you are finished creating the custom DeviceLogix program, Close the editor under the File menu. 

 
Save the custom DeviceLogix program to your computer using the File menu. 

      
 

Download the newly create custom DeviceLogix program to the E300 under the Tools menu. 

       
 

View the custom DeviceLogix program by selecting Edit Program ‐> Online under the Tools menu. Test 
your logic functions, and use the editor to assist in any troubleshooting. 
       
 

Make sure the DeviceLogix Engine is enabled
