Greetings to Nigerian Students!!!

The office of the Dean of Students on Friday, 28th June, 2019 received a letter from the office of
the Speaker, the Student House of Assembly of Indefinite Suspension of the Students‟ Union
President, Comr. Ighofewo Collins for his refusal to comply with the Resolution reached by the
Student House of the Assembly on their sitting held Tuesday, 25th June, 2019 mandating him to
summon the General Student Congress within 24 hour, thus directing the Vice President to act in the
capacity of the President.

In the same vein, on the 1st July, 2019, the Office of the Dean of Student also received a copy of
Judgment from the Student Judiciary Council, Over ruling the Indefinite Suspension of the Student
Union President and Invitation for Public Hearing arising from their Sitting held on Saturday, 29 th
June, 2019 on a Petition by the Student Union President, Comr. Ighofewo Collins challenging his
indefinite suspension as Illegal and Unlawful, that due Process was not followed and was not given
„Fair Hearing‟ in line with the constitutional provision.

According to Article III, Section 8 b(i) “The ruling of the High Court shall be binding on the
Litigants”. Owing to this fact, Management will respect the Court Judgment that recognizes Comr.
Ighofewo Collins as the Union President which also suspended the sitting of Student House of
Assembly pending public hearing.

All Student are to remain calm, law abiding and strongly warned to disassociate themselves from
every unlawful act. The School authority will not sit back to allow anyone or group(s) to unlawfully
incite unrest within the University.

All parties that are not favored by order from the High Court can approach the Court of Appeal as
enshrined in the Constitution in Article III, Section 6 (v) that “All Appeal against the decision of the
Judiciary Council shall be made to the Union‟s Court of Appeal not later than four (4) days of the
Judgment of the Students‟ Judiciary Council”. This is a normal practice in every democratic society.
