RA 1425 indicates the necessity of LIWORIZ in the tertiary. The superficiality of the knowledge you
have about Jose Rizal also necessitates the foregoing. Can you think of two more reasons why LIWORIZ
is in your curriculum? Enumerate and expound each.
1. To have deeper understanding and appreciation of what our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal has
fought and died for. During Rizal’s time, it wasn’t an easy life for the Filipinos given that they are
being abused by the colonizers and has restricted freedom in their own country. And that’s what
ignited Rizal’s determination to fight against the colonizers even if it puts his life on the line.
2. To inform the generation today that the freedom we are experiencing was a hard earned gold
by Dr. Jose Rizal. Also, to encourage the youth to apply Rizal’s ideals to our social problems and
issues today and nurture the future leaders of this country with the right mindset. Because
according to Dr. Jose Rizal “Kabataan ang Pag-Asa ng Bayan”.
