Advantages and Disadvantages of Mobile Phones for Students

Each technology has its own advantages and disadvantages for students. There are some
advantages and disadvantages too of mobile phone for students as usage of mobile is becoming
very popular in the society. Mobile phone is really essential for everyone’s life. Having a
mobile phone is 50-50 chances of advantage and disadvantage. It’s all up to the student who
uses the mobile phone.

Advantages :
 Internet has provided great benefits to the users. Students can download books,
dictionaries or any other information to their mobile for the purpose of study. They can
download other helping material and tools for their help in education.
 If students have a mobile phone, then it’s easy to contact anyone at their needs, for
example they can contact police at any harmful situation or contact fire brigade.
 Of course we get knowledge from teachers and parents. But, internet helps us much
more than old days. We can search anything and get great explanation with the help of
mobile phones.
 If students get absent or miss some notes, they can communicate to their friends to
inform the notes or homework.
 Got to know happen around the world. Nowadays the trend changes and even school
student know what happening around the world. Students with mobile phone use their
device for searching news and other useful stuff and get to know what happen around
the world.

Disadvantages :
 I saw lots of students who play games every time. Anywhere, wherever they are. When
students playing games, they don’t care about time as they concentrate fully on the
game.
 This is another major disadvantage of having a mobile phone by a student. Reduced to
spend time with family, they don’t have any idea about how much family is important
in their life.
 Mobile phones disturbing other students in 2 ways. One is when there is an important
lecture going on and if your mobile phone ring on that time, it will disturb the whole
class. Another one is, some students want to have a mobile phone, but their parents
don’t allow them to keep one. Such students mentally disturbed when they see the next
bench student having a mobile phone.
