Kenwood is an international based company. In Pakistan, It’s been 13 years when

Kenwood stepped into this country’s market with the coalition of RNI electrical
Appliances Pvt Limited. Kenwood International and Kenwood Pakistan is different to
some extent. In western part of the world, some of Kenwood’s appliances are
manufactured differently as the needs differ from country to country, such as in case of
air conditioners, supply of air conditioners is comparatively less in western countries than
in Pakistan due to weather conditions. While, Kenwood Pakistan Air Conditioner’s
supply. Therefore, it depends on country to country.

CSR activity:
Kenwood does not focus much on CSR activity as it is corporate communications
department’s responsibility and Kenwood Pakistan does not have any dedicated corporate
communications department. Their main focus is on sales and media campaign. However,
they have conducted short-term CSR activity. For example, last year they conducted a
short-term CSR activity during Ramadan, under the name of Homage brand in which a
truck was moved around some places of Karachi with water dispensers from noon to
night in order to provide water to the public and used to stop during Iftaar time at a
crowded public place so that people can break their fast.

How do you motivate your employees?

Salary is one of the most important financial motivator when motivating employees.
Kenwood have competitive and satisfactory employee salary package. Apart from
financial motivators, it motivates its employees through non-financial motivators.
Managers focus on fair treatment and equality with all of the employees. They treat all
the employees in a same manner such as if one of an employee gets late at work, he/she
faces consequences of being late by reduction in pay or warnings which is fair for
employees who are punctual. Moreover, employees are given appreciation for their
performances and are given rewards for their work performed. This further makes them
feel recognized and encourage them to work with full enthusiasm. Mangers believe that
employer-employee relationship holds great importance. In this organization, managers
have a friendly behavior with their employees which makes employees satisfied and feel
part of the organization. Besides strict control during work, employees enjoy their job by
having a good relationship with their managers. Training has also been part of motivation
since Kenwood was established. Induction training and on-the-job training is practiced
more. The complete introduction of the organization is given to the employees making
them aware of all the departments and rules and regulations of the organization. On-the-
job training is given in order to train employees in the organization so that they can
observe and learn how each task is done. Along with these motivators, employees are
also given Umrah Packages as a reward for their work performed which highly encourage
them to put their full effort and creates job satisfaction.

Future Planning:
R and I is looking forward to introduce some new products under the name of Homeage
with some different features and qualities. Furthermore, it is planning create one sector of
Homeage and Kenwood in order to be more competitive and known the country.

Genric Strategies:

Kenwood’s main emphasis is on core competence making it more competitive in the

market through the introduction of some new and different features in the electrical
appliances. A new device is installed in air conditioners to facilitate consumers through
an application which can control temperatures. It’s very useful as people can control their
AC through application in their mobile phones. Furthermore, Kenwood’s refrigerator has
distinguishing features which has made easier for many people. This new feature is a
separate section in the refrigerator for dry vegetables such as potatoes, onions and garlic
which keeps them fresh and clean. Among these new features, there is a system inserted
in the refrigerator which prevents ice to build up.
