formed by Audio Professionals to nurture promising talents
in the field of Media and Entertainment. The experience and
passion of the owners has played a key role in formation of

MEET THE FACULTY
MUJEEB DADARKAR
An alumni of Fullsail University, USA and an Electronics Engineer, with a 40 years experience
having worked on projects spanning all areas of the recording business from documentaries,
television & radio commercials, film and music album recordings. He has extensive Live Sound
experience for celebrated artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Niladri Kumar and many more artists
as FOH engineer for their concert tours around the globe. Dadarkar is one of the most revered
personality amongst audio fraternity for his technical excellence and was appointed the Director
for Indian Recording Arts Academy Awards (IRAA) in 2019.

VIJAY BENEGAL
Vijay Benegal’s career as an independent Sound Engineer has spanned close to three decades
with experience on diverse sound recording and mixing projects for radio, films, television, and
music albums. Artists he has recorded for include Ustad Zakir Hussain, Indus Creed, Shankar
Mahadevan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Ranjit Barot and many more. Film recording
projects have included album and background scores for Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Armaan,
Kaante, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and others. He is also a Live Sound Engineer having worked
with local and international artists such as Kailash Kher, Indus Creed, Slash, Niladri Kumar,
Steve Smith, Louiz Banks, Dave Holland, Chris Potter and other luminaries. Vijay is currently
touring with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy as well as Ustad Zakir Hussain’s Cross Currents.

JAYAKRISHNAN NALINKUMAR
4 time IRAA award winner, a world class sound engineer who specialises in song recording
and mixing as well as Live sound mixing. After graduating from SAE Institute Australia, his 14
years career of technical excellence and highly valued skills led him to work with maestros
such as Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ram Sampath, Sona Mohapatra, Shankar Mahadevan, Rakesh
Chaurasia, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Pete Lockett among many others. JK was trained in Carnatic
Classical Music and in playing keyboard since childhood. He is an audio educator for over a
decade and recipient of the esteemed Dronacharya Award for Best Teacher in Audio Education
in 2018. He was also a Speaker at the Palm Sound and Light Summit 2019 in Mumbai.
ANUPAM SATHE
Anupam is an IT engineer from Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai and also has a
Master’s degree(M.A. Music) from Amravati University. Anupam is trained in Hindustani
Classical music and has performed across India and abroad as a vocalist. He is an alumni of
the Sound Engineering Department of ‘Digital Academy – The Film School’ and has been
working as a Recording & Mixing engineer in the Music & Film Industry as well as a Live sound
Engineer for many popular bands. Anupam has a teaching experience of 8 yrs and has been an
Examiner and paper setter at the esteemed SVT College (SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai)
and a Faculty for Animation Sound at Amity University, Mumbai.

OMKAR TAMHAN
Omkar Tamhan is one of our youngest lecturers and also a music producer and audio engineer.
He works as a music producer with India’s biggest independent music channel Bhuvan Bam
aka BB Ki Vines. Omkar also has a strong foothold in the Indian film industry with his company
servicing over 50 films annually. He started his journey as a Studio engineer and then quickly
became the youngest DOLBY Consultant in the world with nearly 150 films to his title.
“TAG is not just another initiative for me but it is a means to improve the quality of audio
education and awareness of the whole country”.

NIRANJAN JOSHI
Niranjan Joshi is a jazz pianist, composer and music producer from Mumbai. He did his formal
education in Western Classical Music and proceeded to study jazz from Bill Evans Piano
Academy, Paris. He is actively working as a musician and is a part of bands such as
Kimochi Youkai, Panchattva, The Jazztafarians. He has also collaborated with artists like
Arunaja, Sanam and many more.
SHASHANK SEKHAR SAHU
Shashank is an engineer who has a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He
started out his career as a disc-jockey in Bangalore performing at different venues and
went on to teach the same in different institutes in Bangalore. Later, he moved to
Mumbai to pursue Sound Recording and Engineering professionally. Since then, he has
worked on advertisement films and also has been a practical faculty for Sound Engineering.

SHISHIR SAMANT
Shishir happens to be a trained music professional. He is trained in Western Classical Piano &
Hindustani Classical Vocals at a young age and took up Composition thereafter. His ability
to compose Indian based melodies and harmonise them with his western classical knowledge
landed him a job as a Music Producer with Composer Amaal Mallik in 2016. Ever since, he has
gone on to even loosely associate himself with Pritam's A&R Project Jam8, as a
Composer/Music Producer and juggle between his Solo Arrangement Projects too.

 CAMPUS
TAG Institute proudly offers a fully air-conditioned campus featuring
3 World-Class studio facilities. The campus also has a computer lab
with 15 Apple Macintosh computers and 2 classrooms equipped with
projectors, studio monitors, MIDI keyboards and audio interfaces for
the new age interactive learning.
We are proud to have the first of the new SSL Origin console in India
and the first campus to have a network based licensing server for all
our softwares. Our campus also is the first smart campus in India for
Audio engineering and Music production. We closely monitor the
growth of our students via our exclusive student-learning portal.

STUDIO 1
This is the foundation studio of our Institute. All
students who study at TAG Institute get access to
this room 2 weeks into the course to right until
they graduate. The room features a Midas M-32
mixing console, which is known for its digitally
operated analog workflow with class electronics
in both studio and live. Students here also have
access to exclusive outboard gear and almost a
dozen small and large diaphragm condenser
microphones as well as various dynamic and
speciality microphones.
STUDIO 2
Also called as the ‘Post Room’ by our faculties is the only
7.1.4 Dolby ATMOS Mix room in any Academic Institution
in India. TAG is the first Institute in India to get the Avid S1
controllers with the Avid Dock. This room features the new
Mac Pro and Protools Ultimate with Voice packs to help
manage heavy post-production sessions. The room also
has an attached Foley pit and an ADR dubbing booth. Fully
equipped with JBL studio monitors for the perfect cinema
oriented sound, this room is networked with our entire
facility and doubles up as a recording booth if required
by the students.

STUDIO 3
This is our flagship studio with a 32-channel
SSL Origin Console and an extensive collection
of outboard gear, which includes equipment
from the likes of Manley, API, Crane Song,
Antelope, SPL, Warm Audio, TC Electronics and
many more. Students get access to this studio
as early as 1st quadmester into the course.
Students also get access to microphones from
Neumann, Earthworks, Audix, Sennheiser,
Rode, Shure and others.
Along with International Standard Equipment,
this studio also features a large enough
Recording Room that can easily accomodate a
25 piece Orchestra or a large Live Band.
