Service Marketing Performance Task #1
Service Marketing Performance Task #1
ADOBE INC.
Adobe Systems Inc. is a leading developer of desktop publishing software. Sales of three
of the company's software products--Photoshop, Illustrator, and
PageMaker&mdashcount for about 50 percent of Adobe's sales. Adobe also developed
and distributes, free of charge, Acrobat Reader, which allows Internet users to view and
print portable document format (PDF) files. The company has investments in about 20
technology companies and is involved in two venture capital partnerships. Adobe also
sells print technology to original equipment manufacturers; the company's PostScript
page description language became the industry standard for the imaging and printing of
electronic documents.
Adobe was founded in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke, both former
employees of Xerox Corp.'s Research Center in Palo Alto, California. At Xerox, Warnock
conducted interactive graphics research, while Geschke directed computer science and
graphics research as the manager of the company's Imaging Sciences Laboratory. In a
1989 interview with the San Jose Business Journal, Warnock recalled that he and
Geschke were frustrated at Xerox 'because of the difficulty in getting our products out of
the research stage.' Believing in the profitability of an independent venture, they left Xerox
to establish their own business, which they named after a creek that ran by their homes
in Los Altos, California.
As of 2019, Adobe has more than 21,000 employees worldwide, about 40% of whom work
in San Jose. Adobe also has major development operations in Newton,
Massachusetts;New York City, New York; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Lehi, Utah; Seattle,
Washington; and San Francisco, California in the United States. It also has major
development operations in Noida and Bangalore in India. To avail their wide array of
subscription-based services, you need to go to their website, choose one (or more) of

User-generated Content
Using UGC (user-generated content) consists of uploading assets to a dedicated
Dynamic Media Classic storage repository and performing related operations.
UGC supports the following file formats:
Raster: JPG, PNG, TIFF
Vector: AI, EPS (EPS files from Adobe Illustrator 2018 are not supported), PDF (only
when the PDF file is previously opened and saved in Adobe Illustrator CS6)
Before uploading assets, you obtain a shared-secret key. You use this key to retrieve an
upload token. You submit the upload token when you upload assets and perform other
UGC tasks.
After you retrieve a shared-secret key and upload token, you can perform the following
operations for user-generated content:
Upload an asset. Get image asset metadata. Delete an uploaded asset. Get information
about a company’s disk space usage.
Location-based Services
Places Service, previously known as Adobe Experience Platform Location Service, is a
geo-location service that enables mobile apps with location awareness to understand the
location context by using rich and easy-to-use SDK interfaces accompanied by a flexible
database of points of interests (POIs).
Places Service allows you to achieve the following:
Create and manage a database of POIs that can be leveraged with other Adobe
Experience Cloud solutions.
Attach custom metadata to the POIs to make them richer and more meaningful by
specifying additional attributes.
Visualize the POIs on a map to easily understand the spatial context and add/edit
metadata attributes.
Configure the SDK in Adobe Experience Platform Launch to define your location-triggered
rules and metadata based conditions.
Reduce the code that you need to write to monitor a device's location and use the Places
extension to automatically trigger the location-specific rules.

most of it all, you need to put big data to work for your organization—so you can quickly

Artificial Intelligence
The major breakthroughs that our generation has witnessed are in the service industry
where the Chat representatives have been replaced by chatbots. Many companies are
either using or planning to use artificial intelligence for virtual assistance. Companies
deploy chatbots for various uses. The most important vertical is customer service. Many
are not convinced of the idea of customers speak with a machine as it might stop working
at some point, but there is potential in machine driven assistance with human-driven
customer service. For example. In a case of airline queries, an artificial intelligence
application can be used to answer simple questions like the status of a flight, alternative
flights, timings etc. Human agents can focus on more complex problems. Chatbots are
being used very effectively by marketers to communicate with their potential buyers in a
very interactive way.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is powering Adobe’s products and businesses. At Adobe, they
use to solve problems in content understanding (including images, videos, documents,
audio, and more); recommendations and personalization; search and information
retrieval; prediction and journey analysis; content segmentation, organization, editing,
and generation; and more.
Adobe Research scientists and engineers are developing the next generation of AI-driven
tools and features, inventing a future where Adobe enables new forms of creativity, and
frees people from routine tasks, and allows enterprises to understand and act quickly on
customer and business insights. Our team also leverages new approaches such as GANs
(generative adversarial networks).
Conclusion
The advancement of information technology takes place everywhere. Organizations
implementing IT are able to provide better services and thereby able to improve their
businesses manifold. In earlier days, IT has enormously been used in manufacturing
sector regarding product designing and development, product modification etc.
Nowadays, the importance of IT has been strongly felt and applied in the service sector.
