PERFORMANCE TASK #1

ADOBE INC.
Adobe Systems Inc. is a leading developer of desktop publishing software. Sales of three
of the company's software products--Photoshop, Illustrator, and
PageMaker&mdashcount for about 50 percent of Adobe's sales. Adobe also developed
and distributes, free of charge, Acrobat Reader, which allows Internet users to view and
print portable document format (PDF) files. The company has investments in about 20
technology companies and is involved in two venture capital partnerships. Adobe also
sells print technology to original equipment manufacturers; the company's PostScript
page description language became the industry standard for the imaging and printing of
electronic documents.
Adobe was founded in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke, both former
employees of Xerox Corp.'s Research Center in Palo Alto, California. At Xerox, Warnock
conducted interactive graphics research, while Geschke directed computer science and
graphics research as the manager of the company's Imaging Sciences Laboratory. In a
1989 interview with the San Jose Business Journal, Warnock recalled that he and
Geschke were frustrated at Xerox 'because of the difficulty in getting our products out of
the research stage.' Believing in the profitability of an independent venture, they left Xerox
to establish their own business, which they named after a creek that ran by their homes
in Los Altos, California.
As of 2019, Adobe has more than 21,000 employees worldwide, about 40% of whom work
in San Jose. Adobe also has major development operations in Newton,
Massachusetts;New York City, New York; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Lehi, Utah; Seattle,
Washington; and San Francisco, California in the United States. It also has major
development operations in Noida and Bangalore in India. To avail their wide array of
subscription-based services, you need to go to their website, choose one (or more) of
their softwares then you provide some informations (payment process) for you to be able
to purchase and have a license to use their subscription-based servicevand usually if it’s
your first time purchasing an Adobe Services, you would be given a free 1-month trial.

Growth of the Internet

The Internet has changed the way we buy. Before the introductions of the internet,
consumers would have to walk into a store to get the product or service they want. Today,
however, you only need to go to an E-commerce store, scroll through the selection of
goods, get reviews from previous customers, and purchase what you like. Because of the
numerous perks of online buying like better prices and convenience, more people are
switching to online stores.
Ability to Communicate. A business' ability to communicate with its employees, customers
and associates changed dramatically when the Internet yielded new communication tools.
Email and instant messaging have changed the face of business communication.
According to a study conducted by the Small Business Administration, 36 percent of
women business owners and 38 percent of male business owners use email very
frequently, while over half of both men and women use email at least occasionally.
Adobe- Growth of internet makes money by selling software for creative content and
marketing purposes with a focus on user experience. The company’s products are offered
as subscription-based service and through licenses. Adobe competes with Apple,
Autodesk, Avid, Corel, Microsoft, Affinity, Quark in its Digital Media offerings, and Google,
IBM, Oracle, salesforce.com, SAP, SAS, Teradata, Shopify in its Digital Experience
segment.
In conclusion, the internet has radically changed how we do business. Today, when a
prospect learns of your business, they first thing they do is Google your name. Next, they
click on your personal website link to learn about you or your business website to learn
more about your products/services. When the prospect finally approaches you, he/she
already knows who you are and what you do.

Wireless Networking and Technology

Business processes have changed dramatically over the years. Owing to the evolution of
technology and changing customer expectations, businesses have devised and revised
strategies to meet the requirements.
Nowadays, businesses are equipped with the best technologies to make the processes
smoother and easier. Emerging technologies are substantially altering the business and
social environment. Wireless technology has become a crucial component of today’s
workplaces.
Advances in wireless technologies have provided a variety of opportunities for businesses
to extend their sales channels and generate more revenue.
Powers the Concept of a Mobile Workforce
One of the biggest advantages of wireless networks is its ability to fuel increased mobility
in businesses. With a workplace equipped with wireless LAN connectivity, employees can
move around the office space without any restrictions arising from cables. Wireless
network allows access to all applications and documents on your network from anywhere
inside the building within the range of the wireless network signal.
Employees can collaborate and share information with team members easily. A wireless
network also provides improved access to information from the servers. It also enables
quick updates from anywhere inside the premises.
Improves Productivity
Wireless technology allows staff to share and access information on the go. Employees
can collaborate from anywhere and at any time. As a result, it accelerates the working
process and brings in enough freedom to business operations.

Digitization of Text, Graphics, Audio, and Video

Digital media is digitized content that can be transmitted over the internet or computer
networks. This can include text, audio, video, and graphics. This means that news from
a TV network, newspaper, magazine, etc. that is presented on a Web site or blog can fall
into this category. Most digital media are based on translating analog data into digital
data. The Internet began to grow when text was put onto the Internet instead of stored on
papers as it was previously. Soon after text was put onto computers images followed,
then came audio and video onto the Internet. Digital media has come a long way in the
few short years to become as we know it today and it continues to grow.
The Birth of Digital Media
In earlier times, messages were once distributed by one particular source to their
audience. The audience gathered their sources through a certain form of distribution,
whether it was newspapers, magazines, radio, or television. Publishers had a great
source of power over the information distributed and how it was perceived by the public.
However, all that began drastically change with the rise of computers and more
importantly the Internet.

User-generated Content
Using UGC (user-generated content) consists of uploading assets to a dedicated
Dynamic Media Classic storage repository and performing related operations.
UGC supports the following file formats:
Raster: JPG, PNG, TIFF
Vector: AI, EPS (EPS files from Adobe Illustrator 2018 are not supported), PDF (only
when the PDF file is previously opened and saved in Adobe Illustrator CS6)
Before uploading assets, you obtain a shared-secret key. You use this key to retrieve an
upload token. You submit the upload token when you upload assets and perform other
UGC tasks.
After you retrieve a shared-secret key and upload token, you can perform the following
operations for user-generated content:
Upload an asset. Get image asset metadata. Delete an uploaded asset. Get information
about a company’s disk space usage.
Location-based Services
Places Service, previously known as Adobe Experience Platform Location Service, is a
geo-location service that enables mobile apps with location awareness to understand the
location context by using rich and easy-to-use SDK interfaces accompanied by a flexible
database of points of interests (POIs).
Places Service allows you to achieve the following:
Create and manage a database of POIs that can be leveraged with other Adobe
Experience Cloud solutions.
Attach custom metadata to the POIs to make them richer and more meaningful by
specifying additional attributes.
Visualize the POIs on a map to easily understand the spatial context and add/edit
metadata attributes.
Configure the SDK in Adobe Experience Platform Launch to define your location-triggered
rules and metadata based conditions.
Reduce the code that you need to write to monitor a device's location and use the Places
extension to automatically trigger the location-specific rules.

Big Data
It’s not easy to collect, organize, and analyze volumes of data. But to really make the
most of it all, you need to put big data to work for your organization—so you can quickly
turn information into insights. Adobe Analytics can help. With our big data capability, you

Artificial Intelligence
The major breakthroughs that our generation has witnessed are in the service industry
where the Chat representatives have been replaced by chatbots. Many companies are
either using or planning to use artificial intelligence for virtual assistance. Companies
deploy chatbots for various uses. The most important vertical is customer service. Many
are not convinced of the idea of customers speak with a machine as it might stop working
at some point, but there is potential in machine driven assistance with human-driven
customer service. For example. In a case of airline queries, an artificial intelligence
application can be used to answer simple questions like the status of a flight, alternative
flights, timings etc. Human agents can focus on more complex problems. Chatbots are
being used very effectively by marketers to communicate with their potential buyers in a
very interactive way.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is powering Adobe’s products and businesses. At Adobe, they
use to solve problems in content understanding (including images, videos, documents,
audio, and more); recommendations and personalization; search and information
retrieval; prediction and journey analysis; content segmentation, organization, editing,
and generation; and more.
Adobe Research scientists and engineers are developing the next generation of AI-driven
tools and features, inventing a future where Adobe enables new forms of creativity, and
frees people from routine tasks, and allows enterprises to understand and act quickly on
customer and business insights. Our team also leverages new approaches such as GANs
(generative adversarial networks).

Improved Predictive Analysis

Predictive analytics puts machine learning to work, comparing and contrasting large
volumes of data and helping you identify customers and anticipate conversion
opportunities.
Predictive intelligence from machine learning and artificial intelligence allows you to
transform real-time audience behavior into more rewarding, relevant future experiences.
Smarter audience insights.
Predictive analytics helps you identify your most valuable audience segments through
data clustering and machine learning, driving a deeper understanding of what will happen
and enabling you to create and deliver more effective, personalized experiences.
Predictive intelligence tools often include propensity models that can predict a customer's
likelihood to convert or churn. It can also help you identify and understand anomalies in
your data and how to respond to them.
Improved vision from a unified customer profile. Predictive models are incredibly powerful
when based on a unified customer profile, helping to identify the most important insights
that lead to more effective optimization of your customer experiences across channels.
Future engagements turn into conversions.
With advanced attribution models, mobile app analytics, and real-time data feeds
informing your decisions, you're better equipped to anticipate their next move and meet
them with the right message, content, and offer at the right time.
Adobe Analytics provides the predictive analytics tools you need to improve customer
intelligence, identify high-value audiences, anticipate future actions, and make better
marketing investments.

Conclusion
The advancement of information technology takes place everywhere. Organizations
implementing IT are able to provide better services and thereby able to improve their
businesses manifold. In earlier days, IT has enormously been used in manufacturing
sector regarding product designing and development, product modification etc.
Nowadays, the importance of IT has been strongly felt and applied in the service sector.
