I) REPORT SUMMARY.
1
REPORT SUMMARY:
BUSBAR TESTING AT OCEANIA TOWERS-PALM JUMEIRAH.
The first page of the report summary that will review the survey and call out any
extraordinary areas or conditions.
The information in the report is self-explanatory, however this summary allow the
reader to capture the most critical information without reading through the entire
report.
2
ABOUT THE REPORT:
INTRODUCTION
The report is limited to the size and extent of inspection at the time it was
conducted and as such is not meant to be a warranty nor guarantee. It does not
relieve concerned parties from their obligations.

ANOMALY REPORTS.
1. Visual Check:
- In our case, we have the two Busbars with the rating of 2000A (upto13th
Floor) Busriser-1, 2500A (upto 6th floor) Busriser-2.
- Busbar Alignments were not done properly (see pic01, 02). Due to this,
during the removal of joints faced troubles.

- Support systems were not properly provided in the LV Room and Risers.
- Due to the Firefighting, water have entered in the Busbars, we found water

sweep in floor no:06. (See attachec Pic 03,04,05,06,07).

- From the above Photos, we can clearly understand that, the water have
passed through the entire systems.
- In our case, we have randomly opened joints in risers. The details of the
opened joints are as follows:

- A hipot test checks for "good isolation." A hipot test checks that no current
flows between points where there should be no current. In some ways a
hipot test is the opposite of a continuity test.
- Continuity Test: "Makes sure current flows easily from one point to another
point."
- Hipot Test: "Makes sure current does not flow between points where there
should be no flow (using high voltage to ensure current does not flow)."
- A hipot test takes two conductors that should be isolated and applies a very
high voltage between the conductors. The current that flows is watched. If
too much current flows the points are not well isolated and they fail the test.
10
- In our case, due to unsatisfied insulation resistance values, we were not able
to perform high voltage test which leads to failure of the systems.
4. Observations:
- From the above photos and reports, it is very clear that, the total busbar
insulations were damaged/failure because of the moisture (water content)
inside the systems.
- Also, the entire floors needs proper cleaning and proper supporting systems.
