How to Install Motion Graphics Templates in Premiere Pro

In Premiere go to Window>Essential Graphics Panel

Click the Install Motion Graphics Template button in the Essential Graphics
Panel.

To install multiple files at the same time go to the following path directory,
depending on your OS. By default this Library folder is hidden, see links
below for helpful tips to access these folders:

Mac: username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Motion Graphics

Templates/

Win: root ://Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Common/Motion Graphics

How to Change Fonts...not in
Premiere

- Fonts are not editable in Premiere Pro however you can unpack the .mogrt file in After Effects
15.1 (April 2018 release) by simply opening it in After Effects, select the text layers and change the
fonts in the Character Panel then click the Export Motion Graphics Template button at the bottom of
the Essential Graphics Panel. Import the mogrt again in Premiere Pro.

- For AE versions 15.0 and below you will need to do the following:
- Change the .mogrt file extension to .zip
- Open the .zip file
- Change the .aegraphic file extension to .zip
- Open the .zip file
- Inside the folder you will have access to the After Effects (.aep) file.
- Open the .aep file, select text layers in the timeline then change the font using the Character
Panel.
- In the Essential Graphics Panel click the ‘Export Motion Graphics Template’ button at the bottom
of the panel.
- Import the mogrt back into the Essential Graphics Panel in Premiere Pro.
INstall MOGRT Overview

In the Essential Graphics Panel

click on the ‘Install Motion
Graphics template’ button.

Select your mogrt and click

‘Open’.

Drag the mogrt from the

Essential Graphics Panel to the
timeline.
Brief MOGRT Overview

Click on the Edit tab in the Essential

Graphics Panel.

Controls may vary for each animation

however there are a few similarities:

Type text in the text field

Move sliders to change position, sizes,

opacity, etc.

Duration controls (don’t affect clip

length, just animation timing)

Animation direction options, for

example in the Background Bars
mogrt you can choose from left to
right, right to left, up/down and
down/up.

Highlight Controls for highlighting

words or lines of text.

Line spacing sliders

Brief MOGRT Overview

Editing:

Premiere treats these animations just like any other clip in the timeline so you are not limited to the
controls in the Essential Graphics Panel. You can edit the mogrt clip in the timeline in the Effect
Controls panel, add effects, your own transitions, speed up overall timing.. whatever... go bananas!

- Can drag them from the Essential Graphics Panel to the timeline as many times as you like!
- You can copy/paste a customized mogrt in the timeline and your customizations will be
retained. You can then customize the copied mogrt.

Duration Controls Included:

Duration slider does not affect clip length, just animaton length. You can cut or shorten the clip in the
timeline.

If 30 seconds is not long enough you can cut the mogrt then create a hold frame or freeze frame for
as long as you want then cut the ‘out’ animation and add it to the end of the extended clip.
Customize Closed Caption

Type your text in the

input field.

Change the the

speed of the
animation.

The maximum clip

length is 30 seconds
but you can use the
‘C’ shortcut to cut
the clip then
copy/paste to create
the next line of text.
Background Bars

Paragraph Boxes

How to Change Sequence Settings (to square or vertical)

Go to the Sequence Menu,

choose Sequence Settings...

Change the frame size width and height:

1080x1080 for Square
1080x1920 for Vertical
