The scope of this procedure is to give a guideline to execute the removal of existing
Desalter from his fixed foundations to be modified as Slug Catcher.

2. LIST OF EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

a) Mobile Telescopic Crane 35 Ton


b) Side Boom 65 Ton
c) Truck with Flat bed Trailer

3. OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE

3.1. Desalter Vessel Equipment Isolation.

3.1.1. Prior to start any activity the valves located in the vicinity of equipment shall be
closed. Such valves shall be defined by VOO.

3.1.2. All the lines connected to the Desalter Vessel shall dismantled in order to allow the
maximum space for removal operation.

3.1.3. All the electrical instrumentation cable/device shall be disconnected by VOO


personnel.

3.1.4. All the accessories shall be dismantled.

3.1.5. The anchor bolts will be un-tight.

3.2. Removal Operation

3.2.1. The Side Boom will be located north side of Desalter Vessel.

3.2.2. The Mobile Telescopic Crane will be located southeast side of Desalter Vessel.

3.2.3. Suitable sling will be connected to the lifting points of Desalter vessel to hooks of
lifting equipment.

3.2.4. The Desalter Vessel will be lifted the necessary height to free the base from anchor
bolts.

3.2.5. As soon the base is free from anchor bolts the Desalter vessel will be traslated north
side in order to free the Desalter vessel from piping system.

3.2.6. This operation will be repeated the times necessary to get the Desalter vessel in
open area, to allow this operation both lifting equipment will move north side
direction. Taking cares that no friction between the vessel base and foundation
occurs to avoid any spark.
In case that the crane position have to be changed, the Desalter vessel will be laid
on the foundation one side and hold by side boom in the other.

3.2.7. As soon the Desalter vessel is ready, to be loaded on the trailer, the crane will be
moved at site location of equipment.

3.2.8. The combined lifting of Side Boom and Telescopic Crane, located at each end of
Desalter vessel, will allow the trailer to be moved under the equipment ready to be
loaded with it.

3.2.9. The equipment will be transferred to Bonatti Nafoora Facilities for the inside
modification and reorientation as Slug Catcher Vessel.

4. SAFETY

In consideration that the removal of Desalter Vessel from present place is a potential
hazardous operation and VOO hot work permit is mandatory before start any
removal activities. All the safety precautions have to be taken even though a
preliminary degassing operation have been carried out.

At this scope, the presence of VOO Safety Officer is requested.
