Backup Configuration
On Drive D: of the Data Logger you can save your configuration files to the D:\Configurations folder. It is
recommended that you also save a copy of the configurations on a different system to ensure that your
configurations are never lost.
To restore the folder simply replace the Database folder on the Data Logger and Restart the
MatrikonOPC Buffer Service in the Services Panel. (Click on the Services Shortcut on the Desktop to
access the services panel).
2. Select and expand the following nodes: Desktop -> Localhost -> Buffer -> Scheduled Transfer
3. Right Click on Scheduled Transfer and hover the mouse over persistence then click on Load
Configuration…
4. Load the configuration with the desired name in the D:\Configurations folder.
5. Right Click on Scheduled Transfer and hover the mouse over persistence and select Make
Default… this will set the configuration you loaded to re-load when the system restarts or the
services are restarted.
How to discard changes that have not been saved to the device
If for some reason an issue occurs with the Data Logger and you are not able to undo the recent changes
manually, you can revert the box to the last “committed” state following the steps below.
1. From the command line, run ewfmgr c: -restore (This will return the box to the state where
changes were last committed)
2. Reboot the system. (The device may take several minutes to reboot depending on the amount
of data that needs to be committed to the C: drive from the Overlay.) If you are connected via a
remote session press CTRL+ALT+END. This will bring up the Windows Security window which
will allow you to restart the system remotely.
