Unit 19 - Be An Independent Learner

Congratulations, you did it. Your pronunciation is definitely better, your pronunciation is
clearer. You're getting closer and closer to that perfect American accent, congratulations. The
key of course, has been training, practicing and training every day, following that five day
process with every unit. Now, of course, improvement never ends. You can always improve a
little more, you'll never be perfect, I'm not perfect, no one is perfect. So, what do you do? You're
almost at the end of the course, what should you do now?

Well, it's time for you to become an independent learner, completely independent learner. You're
already quite independent but you're using my course to improve your pronunciation. Well, once
you completely master this course, you'll be ready to go out into the world and be the complete
master of your own teaching, your own training, your own learning. How to do this. What should
you do next?

Well, the first thing I would like you to do, you're going to do the training audio for this unit so
we have one more and the training audio for this unit uh, is a big review. You're going to be
getting lots and lots of sounds, lots of natural English. And I especially want you to focus one
last time on rhythm for this unit. That coming back to the beginning again, focusing a lot on
rhythm this time.

So, you're going to finish this unit in the next five days. After that, what should you do? Well,
what I want you to do next is to choose the most difficult units from this course and review and
repeat them, right? Because there are some sounds probably that are still difficult for you, the
most difficult ones. It might be one sound, maybe it's three or four units that still feel difficult for
you. So, what I want you to do over the next month or two, go back and review and practice
again with those difficult sounds, those difficult units so that you can improve a little bit more
with them.

After you review the difficult units, that might be a few weeks, it might be a couple of months.
But when you finish that, you're ready to go out into the world to leave this course and to find
your own material. Because you can use the Effortless English Pronunciation five day process,
you can use it with any real English material, okay? You have this method now and you can use
it with anything. For example, what I'd like you to do after you review the tough units is to find
an audio book, find an audio book. You can use my audio book. I've got an audio book, it's
called Effortless English, Learn to Speak English like a Native, by me, by AJ Hoge. Get my
audio book, use the same five day process. So, for each chapter, each chapter of the audio book,
pretend it's a unit and do the whole five day process with Chapter 1. Then after five days, go to
Chapter 2, repeat the five day process again. Then Chapter 3, Chapter 4. So you can use the
whole audio book to continue training your pronunciation.

After you finish my audio book, then what can you do to continue improving your
pronunciation? Well, then you can really start to have fun. Find some movies or television shows
that you like, choose your favorite actors and find a scene you know, five minutes maybe, five to
ten minutes, where there's a lot of talking. Of course, you want a scene that has a lot of talking in
it. And of course, choose actors that have good pronunciation, that you like the way they speak.
And then use that movie scene and use the same five day process with that movie scene, or scene
from your favorite television show. Or you could use a talk show, or you could use the news, an
English language news program. You can use anything out there in the real world using the same
five day process. So, you can continue improving your pronunciation.

The whole English speaking world becomes your pronunciation course, just follow the same five
day Effortless English Pronunciation process. And in this way, you will constantly be improving,
constant and never ending improvement. It's one of the most important values of Effortless
English, and it is the key to your success.

want you to focus especially on rhythm. Get that rhythm perfect.

training. First, I'll review the most difficult units in this course. I'll do more training with the

scenes. Maybe I'll start first with AJ's Effortless English audio book. I'll use the whole book for
pronunciation training.

Then I'll choose scenes from my favorite American TV shows and movies. I'll use the same
Effortless English five day process to train my pronunciation. I'll imitate an track my favorite

Now at a more medium speed.
