PED 13

1) Does the new framework on higher thinking skills and creativity mean that teachers should
no longer make efforts to help students pass/ excel in achievement tests? Explain.

Answer: No, it’s not. Teachers should still make efforts to help students to pass
in the achievement tests because this new framework on higher thinking skills
and creativity is just a guide for them. An effort of a teacher is more usable and
meaningful to help his/her students to pass in achievement test. Although
students should improve and used it properly their high thinking skills, a
teacher plays a very important role in containing that HOTS of the students
because as a teacher serves as the FACILITATOR in learning towards the
students. Teachers should give all their knowledge in the said topic in order the
students will attain such new learning. They should exert effort to help
students excel in achievement tests for not all there is to learn is from
instructional materials. They are the basic factors in the educational progress
of a learner.

2) Can these complex thinking skills be also achieved even without using educational
technology tools? Explain.

Answer: For me, I believe that the complex thinking skills could still be achieved
even without educational technology, but the in depths of these skills could be
properly facilitated and learned with the use of educational technology.
Students learned to innovate and enhance with the used of educational
technology as well as their creativity will be widened and broadened with its
use.
Since people now a days are fond of visuals as to photos and graphics, it
is easier to attract and enhance their creativity. It is easier to facilitate learning
when students are attracted and influence to do creativity in their reports or
presentations. They would love to make assignments and create projects for
they know with the use of the educational technology; there is variety,
originality, and limited options to use.
