The most important aspect of a teacher's education is subject matter mastery.

The ability

to comprehend the subject matter and recognize the connections between other subjects are

among the qualities that a teacher must possess. It is crucial for a teacher's professional

development that helps a teacher develop personally. The effectiveness of teaching are

significantly influenced by a teacher's command of the subject matter. A teacher who has

extensive knowledge in the subject matter can effectively design and deliver the lesson by

capturing the learner's attention to its key points and correcting any misconceptions they may

have pertaining.

As soon as a teacher is an expert in the field, she can effectively educate, explain, and

help students conceptualize the subject matter. There are instances when students are

challenged with intellectual concepts that are too complex for them to understand, and it would

just require the participation of a teacher to clarify or provide alternate answer.

Difficulties in mastering subject matter by the student teachers affect the quality of

learning as the student teachers go to class less prepared which affect their competency and

inadequate knowledge gains by the learners.

Teacher’s knowledge of the subject matter is essential to the implementation of important

teaching tasks. Educator who know the subject matter thoroughly can be more effective and

efficient at organizing the subject matter, connecting the subject with the students previous

knowledge, finding useful analogies and examples, presenting current thinking on the subject,

and establishing appropriate emphases. Explicitly stating expectations for learning goals and

rules is necessary for effective teaching. Prioritizing the knowledge and abilities we choose to

emphasize is a necessary component of effective teaching. Understanding and conquering our

professional blind spots is necessary for effective teaching.

Teachers that are computer literate and know how to incorporate ICT into the curriculum

can have an impact on students' learning. Schools use an extensive variety of ICT tools for

interaction, creation, dissemination, preservation, and management of information. The

emergence of new technologies in our daily lives has made it feasible for the use of ICT in

education.

Teachers can use a variety of techniques to promote higher order thinking in classes,

such as asking students to explain concepts using analogies modeling a variety of problem-

solving techniques; and using concept mapping to help students make connections.

 In terms of communicating with my students, short talks, discussions, jokes, and

exchanges of thoughts are all examples of verbal communication. Active listening is a part of

nonverbal communication. Teacher should pay close attention to the students and show a lot of

empathy

In my daily teaching journey, I consider saying "Good Morning" and "Good Bye" to my

students every day. It not only helps to create a positive atmosphere for the day, but it also

teaches the students to model appropriate behavior. I observed that all students who were

personally welcomed by their teachers also believed that those teachers cared about them

personally, and this thought inspired the students in the classroom to act on it.

Effective communication skills are crucial for maintaining classroom discipline. If we want

to effectively teach our students what constitutes good classroom behavior, we need to polish up

on both verbal and nonverbal communication abilities. Effective communication plays an

important role is students learning, and we should teach our students the manner, and good

conduct they need to know in the classroom.
