Definition of Learner-Centered teaching-learning & Create an Academic Paper:
Learner-Centered is a type of approach that could in improving the teaching and
learning. It is also a type of approach that views learners as active agents. They bring their own
knowledge, past experiences, education, and ideas – and this impacts how they take on board
new information and learn. It also empowers the students to take ownership of what they learn
by focusing on how the new knowledge solves a problem or adds value. Instead of simply
pouring information over the child’s mind, the facilitator presents the student with an issue and
guides the class as they build a solution. Students “discover” the new information and come up
with solutions instead of passively waiting for the teacher’s answers. And of course in a Learner-
Centered classroom a teaching-learning process couldn't be missing it is a combined process
where an educator assesses learning needs, establishes specific learning objectives, develops
teaching and learning strategies, implements plan of work and evaluates the outcomes of the
instruction.
Learner Centeredness or Learner- Centered approach uses interactive strategies to
engage the students and develop their abilities. This educational approach helps students
develop some skills. The word itself Learner- Centered it does not really mean letting the
students go learn on their own without proper guidance. And some of the teachers I know told me
that Learner-Centered approach is somewhat considering the needs of a students, as a teacher you
should not rely on one thing, but try to think out of the box. In fact it is a type of approach where
students will still be given a proper guidance which is one of the responsibilities of a teacher to
guide and to shape their learner in many aspects of life especially in decisions making, problem
solving skills, teamwork or learning how to work as a team, how to be more cooperative; how to
handle pressures because we are living in a time where high technologies is very rampant to
our society and this could help them to the current labor needs. And by having this type of
approach in a classroom could help your learners to become an individual that our country
needs. And some of the important reason why this approach is very important, to the point that
most of the job now requires a problem solver. And as what I have written above according to
the definition of Learner-Centered it empowers the students to take ownership of what they
learn by focusing on how the new knowledge solves a problem or adds value. Instead of simply
pouring information over the child’s mind, the facilitator presents the student with an issue and
guides the class as they build a solution. Students “discover” the new information. Collaboration
in today's workplaces requires individuals who are ready to experiment and overcome
obstacles. Thus, for fast-paced businesses where solutions are required right away, learning
how to explore problems and make judgments to address them is particularly valuable. Also, our
society needs leaders that could work in different environments. This strategy promotes group
seating for collaborative learning. Students discuss, collaborate, learn how to interact with
others, and perform a variety of other daily duties while sitting with their peers that will
eventually help them become team players. For workplaces with a global workforce, this quality
is essential. When you are guiding a group of individuals from many nations toward a shared
objective, teamwork is crucial. And another thing is in a world full of jobs it is also a
requirements on how you are going to socialize with your co- workers. If you could also coach
others. And this type of approach the Learner-Centered approach creates opportunities for
students to impart knowledge to one another, respond to inquiries from their peers, and exhibit
the fruits of their labor. Additionally, great work leaders can coach their teams, communicate a
vision, and persuade key stakeholders. If the students develop the skills of public speaking from
a young age, they will have acquired an important asset for their professional lives. We’ve all
been told that students need to be able to construct their own knowledge to improve critical thinking
skills, so why would we consider a teacher-centered approach to instruction? In education, there is not a
one-size-fits-all method that works for all students in all situations. There are times when a teacher will
need to momentarily abandon constructivism in favor of more traditional classroom settings. And I
analyze that having a Learner-Centered classroom is really an advantage to both teacher and student,
and also, the focus of the language is the use on typical situations or how students use the language
unlike on the teacher- centered is it focuses on what instructor knows about language. And as what I
have written some of my friend that is a teacher told me that this type of approach is really good based
on their experience, because experience really focus on the learners. The courses need to be very user-
friendly, so that learners can navigate the course without any difficulty. They should be able to easily
access the content of their choice, and skip the sections they are not interested in. Likewise, learners
should find the courses relevant to their challenges and learning needs. The courses should include real
life examples that learners can relate to.

Lastly, Students who get education that is learner-centered acquire skills that will better
prepare them for vocations in the workplace. Teachers can receive training in this method so
they can put the ideas into practice and give their pupils a better educational experience. This
approach relies on the children, who are the most significant resource in the classroom, rather
than technology or other specialized tools that schools in underserved neighborhoods might not
have.
