Method Statement
Nitofill WS60 & Nitofill UR63

Section A : General Comments

This method statement should be read in conjunction with the “Application criteria” section of the
Nitofill WS60 & Nitofill UR63 data sheet(s). Please refer to the local Fosroc office for advice on
selection of the most appropriate product for your application.

High temperature working

It is suggested that, for temperatures above 350C, the following guidelines are adopted as good
working practice:

(i) Store unmixed materials in a cool (preferably temperature controlled) environment, avoiding
exposure to direct sunlight.
(ii) Keep equipment cool, arranging shade protection if necessary. It is especially important to
keep cool those surfaces of the equipment, which will come into direct contact with the
material itself.
(iii) Try to avoid application during the hottest times of the day.
(iv) Make sufficient material, plant and labour available to ensure that application is a continuous
process.

Equipment

It is suggested that the following list of equipment is adopted as a minimum requirement

Protective clothing : Protective overalls

: Good quality gloves, goggles and face mask

Preparation equipment : Injection Packers (Non Return Valves), Drilling Machine,

Air Blower.

Mixing equipment : Forced Action Mixer, mixing paddle

Application equipment : Single Component PU Injection machine Pouring

equipment

Application - points of note

Fosroc operates a policy to encourage the use, where possible, of approved or licensed applicators.
This ensures that works are completed satisfactorily so that the long term performance of the

materials is assured. For contractors who wish to apply the materials themselves Fosroc is also able
to offer technical assistance and training.

Section B : Application Method

Nitofill WS60

Surface preparation
 Clean area of concrete so cracks are identifiable.
 Drill holes & fix the Non Return Valves (NRV) on either side of the crack in staggered manner
at 45o angle so as to bisect the crack and at required spacing.

Mixing & Application

 Thoroughly mix the accelerator with the base resin, using a slow speed drill fitted with a mixing
paddle.
 Inject Nitofill WS60 along the line of the crack methodically, ensuring that the material is
working its way along crack line.
 Nitofill WS60 should stop water adequately if cracks are static. However, if further movement
is anticipated, it is advised that a secondary injection of Nitofill UR63 is applied.
 Nitofill UR63 which is supplied in separate packs may be injected through the same injection
ports after initial set has taken place to permanently seal the cracks.

Finishing
On Once the injection process has finished, remove injection packers and repair with Renderoc
Range Repair Products. Scrape off any foam residue from the cracks and dispose of appropriately.

Surface Preparation and Packer Spacing

 Clean area of concrete so cracks are identifiable.

 Drill holes & fix the Non Return Valves (NRV) on either side of the crack in staggered manner

Mixing and Application

 Thoroughly mix the components of Nitofill UR63 using a slow speed drill fitted with a mixing
paddle
 Inject Nitofill UR63 along the line of the crack methodically, ensuring that the material is
working its way along to the next point. If injecting vertical cracks it is generally advised to
begin at the bottom of the crack and work upwards.
 Nitofill UR63 is also used in combination with Nitofill WS60 foaming injection system supplied
in separate pack.

Notes
The success of water stopping injection is largely dependent upon the skill of the applicator. Fosroc therefore recommends that an exp
applicator is selected to undertake these works to the required standard.
Exact spacing of injection ports, amount of accelerator, pump type and even injection technique will vary depending upon a number o
including crack with, concrete depth and water pressure. These will change even within the same project. Excess material should be s
reacted with water to produce and inert Polyurethane foam, and disposed of appropriately.
Detailed Application methodology is mentioned in the Revised Technical Datasheet attached in following slides

Section C : Approval and variations

This method statement is offered by Fosroc as a ‘standard proposal’ for the application of Conbextra
EP10. It remains the responsibility of the Engineer to determine the correct method for any given
application.

Where alternative methods are to be used, these must be submitted to Fosroc for approval, in writing,
prior to commencement of any work. Fosroc will not accept responsibility or liability for variations to
