Pantayong Pananaw ni Zeus Salazar: A Reflection Paper

Filipino history, as I've known, is composed in traditional history textbooks and

instructed in history classes at review schools and high schools. Chronological occasions on
how the Filipinos came to be, written by western historians. This would be the history of the
Philippines that I know. The history of the Philippines that I have learned is based on the point
of view of the author when they came to the Philippines. As I was introduced to Pantayong
Pananaw (point of view) in studying the history of the Philippines, I came to realize how the
history of the Philippines should be composed. How they were gathered to be taught in our
classes. I understood why we should use the Filipino point of view in composing our history.
At the early part to be legitimate, I had a tough time finding out why we must use a distinctive
approach in looking at and looking at our history. Until the time I compared the compositions
of the authors of Philippine history, I came to realize that there was something off-base that
differentiated their approach from each other.

It seems that the outside authors composed the Philippine history not for the Filipino
individuals; rather, they composed it as their argument history, which accentuated their work,
and the Filipinos are a fair portion of it without esteem. We can see how the history of the
Philippines changes, what was meant to be written, who are the heroes and the center of the
story. I realized that we have to stand up and support pantayong pananaw bunch in aiming to
impose on our own point of view the dignity of understanding our past. I by and by the need to
strengthen them in their promotion to open Filipino mindfulness to our possession of Filipino
history. I salute the Filipino creators who keep on bugging and letting us realize how vital it is
for us to be influenced by out - of-base discernment.

I am happy and great as I am part of this history course, which has given me an extrao
rdinary lesson and offered me the help that came to the realization of what is true Philippine h
istory. I'm so happy to be a Filipino. I am a Filipino.
