Detailed Lesson Plan in English II

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the pupils will able to:

a. identify the declarative sentence in the story;


b. construct simple sentence using declarative sentence;
c. give importance to every little things that surrounds us.

Before we are going to start our


new lesson, let’s have first a game.
I will group the class into two groups.
Each group will be given a list of words.
All you need to do is to identify the
the words if it is a proper noun or a
common noun and you have to paste
it on the board.

Sentences that ends with period are called
declarative sentence. And it is also known
as statement. Declarative sentence states the
facts and opinion. Did you understand class?

3. Setting of Standards

Now class, Doraemon is here. He has a letter


for us. It is inside in his pocket.
Do you want to get the letter? Yes teacher!
But, before we can get the letter Doraemon
has question for us.

4. Unlocking Difficulties
Let’s get now the letter from his pocket.
Oh no! the letter has a passcode, but there’s a
note inside the envelope.

Class, the letter of Doraemon for us is a story.

It is entitled “Anton Spider Lesson”

Now, we are going to read this.

Anton’s Spider Lesson

Anton loves to play with spider. He wants to catch one to play with his sister Ericka. One
Saturday morning, while Ericka playing in the garden, she saw a spider spinning its web. She stay
there until the spider finished its web. Ericka was so amazed when she saw how the spider laid its
eggs in the egg sac. Suddenly, Anton tried to catch the spider. Ericka stopped him “Do you know,
Kuya that spider spend a long time spinning their web? The mother spider made it for her eggs
and for her food.” Ericka said seriously.
When Anton heard Ericka’s statement, He realized that even how big or small things are in
our surroundings they also have their own value and also the need to be respected.
After then, Anton let the spider live and never touched the spider and its web.

5. Discussion
Now class, based on the story. Sentences that
ends with period is called declarative sentence.
And it is also known as statement. Declarative
sentence states the facts and opinion.
Example:
1. Anton loves to play with spider.
2. Ericka was so amazed when she saw how
the spider laid its eggs.
Who can give another example based on
the story? Calling pupils.

Oh! There are four envelopes here. But before
I read the letters inside the envelopes, I have here a box.
There are four pictures of fruits inside the box.
All you need to do is to pick a picture inside the
box. And then, you group yourselves according
to the picture you have picked.
Each group will be given different activity. Read
each instruction carefully. Understand class? Yes teacher.

Group 1
(Reading and writing center)
In your group you will be given 2 minutes to read the
selection and after that, give 3 declarative
sentences that can be found in the selection.
Write down in your paper

Family Dinner
Mother prepared dinner. She is cooking adobo,
pinakbet, and rice. Mary helped her mother in the
kitchen. Michael helped set the table. When mother
finished cooking, mother told Mary to call her father.
Father, Mother. Mary and Michael sat at the table to
eat dinner. When dinner was over, Mary cleaned up
the table and Michael did the dishes.
