1 Opening / introduction PIC welcomes the sts before Teachers and students sing
'chinese dragon dance' together.

2 Grouping PIC groups the students by distributing the pictionary card
randomly to each student such as ; dumplings, fireworks,
fortune cookies, yin yang, lantern, moon cake, fire
crackers. Then students sit in a group by their picture card.
15 minutes
3 Picture guessing & Spelling Each group competes to guess the picture on slide(ppt), then
spell its word. The group with the most correct guesses and
spellings wins. 15 minutes
4 Chopstick
each player needs :

Pair of chopsticks, Two plastic bowls, Handful of sweets or mini


marshmallows.

What to do:
15 minutes
Give each player a pair of chopsticks and two plastic bowls. Fill
one of each player’s bowls with a few handfuls of sweets and to
keep things fair, make sure each player has the same number
of sweets in their bowl.

1. Start the timer and give the players one minute to transfer as
many sweets from one bowl to the other using only their
chopsticks!

2. The one who transfers the most sweets in one minute wins a
prize.
5 Reading gap fill
Each group will complete the gap of passage given which 10 minutes
relates to chinese new year with the optional answers shown on
slide in 80 seconds.

The group with the most correct answers wins.

6 Reading comprehension
Each group competes to answer the question about the
passage above . the group with the most correct answer wins.
