and 1B).

COMPANY ANALYSIS :

Write a short text (maximum 500 words) that presents the company and explain its business
model. I would like to know : what does it sell, how does it make the product, what is the
manufacturing process (what are the main cost factors), what is the trend of the industry, who are
the main competitors, who are the customers, is it a commodity business or a monopoly business.

The elements to be presented are:

 Environment: Knowledge and presentation of the sector, competitors, products,
manufacturing process (what are the main cost factors), the firm’s business model (i.e.
how does the company make money) and strategy. To make a good financial analysis,
you must read the last annual reports of the firm and/or form 10-K (for companies listed
in the USA), as well as Reilly&Brown chapters 11 « an introduction to security
valuation », 13 « industry analysis » and 14 « company analysis and stock valuation ».

Financial analysis
Financial analysis: first present the main figures and financial ratios in the tables given below
(format and elements to be strictly respected). You must create your owned customized table on
Bloomberg and then export it in Excel format to retrieve easily the information (FA Bloomberg).
 Then don’t just fill the table! You must comment the most noticeable figures and their
evolution. Make sure that data are all consistent. Be critical thinker. For instance, if
sales are expected to decrease next year, explain why. If operational margin has
improved significantly, explain where it comes from. These tables are the basis for your
financial analysis. Read chapter 10 of the Reilly&Brown “Analysis of financial
statement”. The forecast must be JUSTIFIED. You must explain how you come up with
these predictions.
 Look at the drivers of your industry (see the key indicators in the BI page top-right
of the screen)
 Use Bloomberg DES, ICB, CCB, BI+”Industry name”, DSCO, FA
