ATLAS LIFTS
INITIAL STEPS
• The lift rescue operation should only be performed through the
landing doors.
• No part of the body of the person performing the operation,
should be inside the well.
• All the safety devices must be active during the operation.
• Locate the nearest landing to the car lift.
• Inform and advise the occupants:
✓ About the procedure that you are going to follow and try to
calm them down.
✓ To stand away from the door(s) and to follow your
instructions.
✓ That the lift will move shortly and they are not in danger.
• Leave someone (who does not need to be trained or
authorized) on the nearest landing to the car to continue to talk
to the passengers.
• Ensure that all the landing doors are closed. Place a sign on all
of the landing doors warning about the potential risk (for
example: DANGER! LIFT OUT OF SERVICE).

COMPONENTS LOCATION
Locate the following on the controller:

• The TFT Display, which serves as an operating keypad. Press

“Menu” to go to the main menu, and then “Release” to view the
emergency evacuation display. In this view the following
information is provided:

✓ UP and DOWN arrow, which indicates the direction of car

movement and the car speed. The arrow is green while the
car speed is less than or equal to 0.1 m/sec and when the
car speed exceeds 0.1 m/sec, the arrow turns red, warning
the operator to release the brake buttons BTB1 & BTB2 in
order to stop the car.
✓ Floor indication.
✓ ZONE, which lights up when the car reaches a landing zone
to warn the operator to stop the car. The indicator will light
up and the arrow will no longer be visible when the car is at
the floor level.
• The Recall Switch (MAN).
• The brake test switch (BTS), brake coil 1 test button (BTB1) &
brake coil 2 test button (BTB2).
• The Door Power Supply MCB (FLDAC) and the UPS power
supply MCB (FUPS).
BRAKE RELEASE
STEP 1
Switch off the Door Power Supply MCB (FLDAC). Make sure that
the UPS power supply MCB (FUPS) is not switched off.
STEP 2
Use the Recall Switch (MAN), to set the controller to recall
operation.
STEP 3
Press the BTS first, and then BTB1 & BTB2 buttons at the same
time to release the car and pay attention to the speed indication on
the display. When the car speed exceeds 0.1m/sec, the arrow will
turn red. You should press the BTB1 & BTB2 buttons for short
periods of time, no more than 4 sec. If the arrow turns red, release
the BTB1 & BTB2 buttons immediately.
STEP 4
Repeat STEP 3 until the landing zone indicator on the display lights
up.
If the car does not move, call the maintenance
company immediately. Wait for the maintenance
person to rescue the trapped persons. Before leaving
the installation, after a successful or unsuccessful
rescue operation, ensure that all landing doors are
closed and the main power switch is OFF.

STEP 5
If the doors do not open automatically, follow the instructions below
for unlocking landing doors.
Emergency door release instructions
• Before using the triangular key, ask all persons to stand at least
three meters away from the landing door.
• Open the door no more than 100mm (about fist size). The
automatic doors open using the key and by pulling in the direction
of opening. In some cases though, when the car is behind the
landing door and the battery of the door emergency supplier is not
fully discharged, the automatic doors may not open at once. In
such a case, wait 5 minutes until the battery is fully discharged and
then repeat the procedure. In the meantime, try to keep the
passengers calm and reassure them that the doors will open after
a short period of time.
• Check if the car is behind the landing door (use a torch if
necessary)
• If the car is within 200mm of floor level, fully open the landing
door and release the passengers.
• If you can see the car but it is above the floor level close and lock
the landing door and move the car.
• If the lift car is not visible, without opening the door more than
100mm and without leaning in the hoistway, try to locate its
position. Lock the door and move the lift car to a substantial level.
STEP 6
When the car is evacuated, ensure that the doors are closed and
locked.
Call out the lift service company to rectify the fault.
