John Creighton Builder Ltd has been established since 1992.

We have been Registered Master Builders since 1993
We employ over 30+ staff including BLP carpenters, Quantity surveyors and project managers
I personally completed my building apprenticeship in 1989 and also achieved advanced trade
certificate in the same year. I am also an LBP. I have also been on the Master builders committee for
a period of 2 years during the mid 2000’s

JCBltd are multi award winning builders winning our first National House of the year award in 2000
We recently won the 2017 Canterbury and New Zealand Master Builders house of the year overall
supreme award.

Prior the September 2010 EQ were involved in a mixture of high end renovations and new builds.
The areas we worked in were mainly in Merivale and Fendalton and in the hill suburbs. Before the
EQ we had around 20 staff. A number of those staff I still have today and have been with me for
quite some years prior to the EQ. A number of the renovations we were involved in were working
on older houses that had historic settlement.

Post the September event we have been involved in repairing 100’s of damaged houses. We have
also been involved in scoping many more that did not go to contract.
We have been rated the no 1 builder with Arrow in their new build and repair programme.

JCB have been involved in the process of assessing and re cladding homes,
Re leveling homes via several different methods, High lift, under pinning, over pinning, Smart lift
method and LMG re leveling.
We have also repaired retaining walls and tanking to homes on the hill.
I am very proficient in defining what is and what’s not historic damage.
I am also very capable of deciphering engineers reports and Geo tech reports.
We have worked with most of the major engineers in Christchurch.
I also have in depth knowledge Schedule 4 and the “Code of conduct for an expert witness”.
I have also been involved in the preparation of a “Brief of evidence” for litigation claims.
We have acted for Several legal firms on various projects that are involved in litigation.
I have a sound knowledge of the Building act and how the building code is applied.
