Safety First!
Do's and Don'ts for Pool and Spa Chemical Use
DO read the product label and DO NOT mix different chemicals
follow all directions or other treatment products prior to
adding to pool/spa water
DO maintain good housekeeping
practices DO NOT dispose of chemical
product container without washing
DO store chemicals in a cool, dry, & drying completely
well-ventilated place
DO NOT use dry chemical fire
DO wear appropriate personal extinguishers (use water only!)
protective equipment as listed on label
DO NOT dispose of spilled
DO use up all product before material or unused product in the
disposing of container TRASH or SEWER (use or dispose
per label directions)*
DO notify supervisor in case of an
emergency situation DO NOT store liquid materials
above solid materials
DO keep spilled materials isolated,
follow label directions for clean-up DO NOT allow product to contact
and disposal oil, grease, acid or organic material
DO keep containers covered to DO NOT smoke where pool
protect chemical products from chemicals are stored or used
moisture and other contaminants
DO NOT use floor sweeping
DO add each pool and spa compounds when cleaning up pool
chemical separately chemicals
DO have an emergency plan and DO NOT put spilled materials
conduct regular drills back in the original container
